They are. Every one is worth 2 points. That’s how many more points we needed to make the top 8 last year.

We also won games as underdogs last year. Without them we wouldn't have come close to the top eight. So it all comes out in the wash.

Competition points are crucial at all times, but particularly when they’re easily winnable and you’re trying to bank ‘easy’ points due to circumstances (such as having your best player out for an extended period). This one really should’ve been won, and it hurts not to take the points.

No doubt we'll get those two points back later in the year when some better team takes us lightly.

If a team wins 95% at full strength, 85% without player A and 80% without player B, which player is likely to be more influential, at least according to the win rate?

super disappointed in our on field leaders today - and especially Paulo and Brown.

Brown with his stupid tap on forward when hd could have just taken the tackle, and even the pass to Harper that he put down wasn’t on and was on his shoulder. At a time we needed a cool head he was with the pixies.

we can’t win games with 2 halves that only want to run the ball. Blaize is a carbon copy of Dyl, which would be ok if Dyl could adapt his game in Moses absence, but he can’t.

for all the shit he copped on here and in general, we win the game today if Jake Arthur is our 7. That’s a fact.

Blaize isn’t ready for the big time in a spine position. The odd backline fill in. Sure, but that’s it.

Sanders is even less ready, he can’t control a cup team.

Has to bd either Asi or Hands into the halves.

I would say your data is insufficient to draw a conclusion. I’d need the sample size (actual number of games) as well instead of just percentages.

I’m surprised at Browns lack of game managing considering he came through the grades as a halfback.

But your request for a hypothetical sample size shows you do get it, so I will cut to the chase and point out that we couldn't win 12 from 15 (80% - the Panthers' record without Cleary) without Moses because we don't even win that much with him in the team. Penrith also win a lot more than 80% with Cleary so they are clearly impacted by his absence, just as we are with Moses. That's why these players are on such big salaries.

I’d say the meaningful comparison would be the degree to which the team is impacted. 80% is a fantastic record without Cleary. You have to credit Penrith for having such fantastic systems that allow that.
