Ok. I’m scrapping that debacle. Moving forward Hodgson gets dropped to the bench for a 20 minute stint, Dunster replaced by Lumelume and Paulo back in for Murchie. I think we’d get most of the stupid out of our game and look a lot more solid across 80 minutes.

Lume isn’t Top 30, so you’re pushing your luck with the NRL. Unless you want Waqa back.

So did we. I saw nothing that would make me think that the Eels are a serious contender circa 2023. In fact, I think we've gone backwards. I'd be surprised if we even make the 8.

What an embarrassing display, we fell in against the worst team in the comp. First contact was weak, line speed non existent and kick chase poor. This team looks as stale as month old bread.

We don't have cattle for the power game when Paulo or RCG aren't playing.

The Tigers were full strength in the forwards I think.

I thought he looked ok the first couple of rounds, but he’s looked to have regressed since then. Service is barely passable most of the time, but the defence is shocking, we seem to lose the middle whenever he’s on the field. Would be interested to see his tackle stats today, I imagine lots of ineffective tackles. It’s a genuine worry, and it’s hard to see him coming good. Which is disappointing, because I thought he might bring something this year if he could stay injury free.

Not putting Wiremu back on and giving Murchie 8 mins was mind boggling. Dunster...I like the kid but gee wow...no I won't say anything.
We need some big help in the outside backs

We were average but the Tigers lifted and we had f**k all possession but still won. The Tigers were unlucky in the end but can we at least celebrate the sublime form of our halfback. He is easily our best player with Gutherson a close second. When our next best player comes back from suspension we will be fine.

Dunster was a little tentative but will be better for the run as will Lane and Russell. The biggest issue we have is Hodgson. He is garbage. We need to tap him on the shoulder for season 2024 and go after a hooker with Hands coming off the bench. I’d be enquiring on Joey Lussick.

He is in defense, his work rate is way behind Rheeeed's, and our big blokes are getting moved around more and tiring to compensate.

That means they have less in the tank when we have the ball.

Dropping Hodgson will help in that regard. He’s weak, slow and isn’t very intelligent. Everyone has to work harder around him. Arthur needs to bite the bullet. I’d take Jake playing that middle role for 10 minutes either side of half time and cover the halves….from me that’s saying something.

As soon as you name a single player you’re looking for a scapegoat and not seeing the game objectively. Our biggest issue today was unforced errors (a matter of luck, imo). Our second biggest was our right edge defence, which is a team problem.
