I have absolutely no issues if deliberate penalties are sent to the bin, especially in try scoring situations. Whether it's us or others.
I agree...which is why the first half strip as Matto was attempting to score should have been a sin binning. It was deliberate

That specific scenario?

The others were repeated infringements, completely different.

If Jennings stopped a certain try i am ok with it but his actions did not stop a certain try and that is the problem i had with it.

Morris stripping the ball with 2 in the tackle when Matto would have scored, that was more worthy of a sin binning but i am sure you will tell us how good the play was.

Issako was a repeat infringement?

Why play the man? You've been among those who give me shit for doing that exact thing, I haven't done it once here...

You're allowed to strip the ball over the line, when the ball was stripped he wasn't over the line

Did you see the Cowboys game? Taumololollol was 5m into the in goal and the strip got penalised because he couldn't have scored. Which I disagree with BTW, but goes to the point.

It's specifically "in the act of attempting to score" or similar in the rules AFAIK. And it can't be a penalty try because if Matto lost possession there you can't say an extra 8th of a second would have seen him hold it and score in that tackle. I reckon he would have, but still.

Isn’t everything you do with the ball an act to try to score? I think that’s certainly grounds to get rid of the ridiculous stripping rule (that Manu clearly didn’t get Robbos memo about)

Deliberate penalties have gone to the bin at least three times this weekend. Maybe four? Several last weekend too (eg DylBro). I just thought the question was rhetorical ranting tbh...?

But with every player deemed off side, wouldn’t that all be deliberate illegal play??? Going by that sin binning, every off side play should be a sin binning.

morris strips the ball in the field of play. That’s deliberate. Why wasn’t that a binning.

Completely different offence, that was slowing down after a break and he pulled him back down, that has been a binning fairly consistently.

When did i give you shit about playing the man? We've had disagreements but to be honest i am not even concerned when people play the man, even if it is me, people are probably right when they do it to me, why argue or get upset.

Blake was diamonds last week and rocks this. Really he has played only one decent game, last week, for his whole time at Parra. I'd drop him for next week and bring Salmon in, he's not as fast but he can tackle. And with his skill set he could be a real threat. Ferguson needs a rest too until he learns to stay on his winger.

That last try Roosters scored was a referee try, JW-H dropped that ball cold as Terepo hardly touched it. Ref refused to give us 6 again despite many time Rooster refused to let us go. What is it with refs and Roosters and Storm slowing ruck but both get majority 6 agains?

We have to learn to start smarter, just too many errors in first half, like we always seem to do against top teams.
We still want to go sideways when there's no easy metres up the middle. The good teams stay patient, stick with the hard runs and get to their kick. They kicked 26 times to our 17 tonight.

I actually thought it was quite similar tbh. More obvious in Issako's case, but the Roosters had just cut us to bits and Jenko made zero effort to get onside.

I felt like you had. If I'm recalling it wrongly then I apologise. You merkin.

I don’t know if such thing as a good loss exists but I reckon that’s as close to it you can get. I have faith that they’ll respond. Can’t wait to be able to cheer the boys on from the stands they certainly deserve it!

They need to respond next week against the Raiders, if they are below par and lose then we are just where we have been for a long time.

I've already said I think we got away with one there. But given the rules state you can strip in the act of scoring, and do not state you can loiter 4m offside to prevent a try, I feel like players should get some leeway with that one.

It is an 80 minute game, the Roosters and Storm play the whole time no matter what........if you want to beat them and make the GF, you have to play them for 80 minutes.

1%ers are our biggest issue, attention to detail is what we are lacking........our players have struggled with that concept for quite some time.
We were worse in the first 40 than in the final 20. The first half we went away from the game plan and made unforced errors. In the final quarter fatigue got to us - because we gave away so much ball in the first forty.

As i said earlier, fundamentally it was the correct call but it is just not one they make very often. I know they made a break and i know that he made no effort but i have seen it happen before and rarely is it classed as a professional foul.

Like i said Storm and Roosters have built premierships on those types of plays and knowing they will get a rest and likely just get a penalty goal agains them.

Oh and i am the biggest merkin to ever merkin, merkin..........

Anyways, does anyone think we need an attacking dummy half? Reeds game isn’t evolving IMO. He had ample opportunity to run but his first instinct is to pass. Imagine if we had cook at that position. If we’re going to persist with him, we really need a quality 14.

The referee actually said to the Roosters that the reason it was a penalty was because he wasn't classed as in the act of scoring that far out.......weird rule.

To be fair, the Storm haven't really been getting away with it the last few weeks...and it's glorious.

I do think the ten has become 7-8m lately, but Jenko has to at least make an effort. He stood like 4m offside right in front of the ref.

Nope. Reed ran once, picked the perfect time and ran 15m. He's got a running game, he's just not compulsive and probably a little cautious as a young player. If it's not his strength I'd prefer him to play to his strengths and run when the moment is right. We've got other blokes who can run from acting half.

I do agree we should have a bench hooker, because 56 tackles will stop Reed from being as effective whatever he does in attack.
