I feel like Browny was about to hit full terminator too, 180m and 33 tackles in this game which is getting back to his 2017 form. For someone who the media is building up to be an NRL tough guy radley laid down for that penalty, very soft.

He is as good as Jake Trbjvicic at half the price

It was the result I expected, so not really surprised.
What I wanted was a good effort against the heavyweights and we definitely showed that. There aren’t many teams who would ever beat this Roosters side when they are completing their sets at over 90%. We just need to fix up a few areas to be a real Premiership threat.

Best thing about the game was Sivo almost murdering Tedesco. Not because Teddy got injured, that’s not that great...but just the immense strength to push off a pretty strong player to score was amazing. Could watch that on repeat over and over again.

Our defence overall was impressive. Not many times I have been able to say that over the last decade or so. To have the feeling that when a team is attacking our line and I’m afraid they will score every time is a good feeling to have.

I would have been pretty happy going in at halftime 6-0. That strip and penalty just before halftime really annoyed me. We did so well to get in front, then just lost concentration for a moment and that was enough. Jenko’s sin bin was such an incredibly lazy piece of play. He could have gotten back o side and still gone up to shut down the play if he put in some effort. I hope BA gets into him about that.

As for Waqa Blake...players have shit games sometimes. This was a shit game for him. Hopefully he doesn’t have many more in the future.

Still on top of the table and have a great chance of making the top 4 (or even top 2). Can’t wait for next week.

looking at the replay again, gee Jennings / Nrowns poor discipline is what really cost us in that last 15 or so.

Jennings didn’t need to shoot out and Nrown was a bit careless.

they gave us no chance to get back into the grind and build some pressure

Canberra are ripe for a plucking, provided we play like we have been (maybe with a little less errors)

If we do play our aggressive up tempo defense, we should smack them. They miss Bateman and Sezers kicking game. Klokstad isn't as lethal as last year. Plus are not in the same league of the Roosters

NQ the week after that. Im quietly confident two victories coming up :sunglasses:

Definitely a sin bin as Jenko never got back after they broke the line. It's a sin bin every day of the week.
Except for most other teams. Lets see how many sin bins happen from now on for same thing. I'd say hardly any and there's vision of a storm player standing 2 metres offside against Panthers with immunity. Who would have thought?

A good summary. Yes Sivos and Lanes strips were bloody awful. Sivos particularly. I watched the game again last night. Waqa wasnt as bad as I first thought. He does have a habbit of arm grabbing but Morris is very good. More an issue is his hitting and not sticking. Thats a very regular occurrence.
Boy we shut down Teddy.
I love Gutho but he takes some bad options. I think we need him away from D/H and encourage Rheed to do more. He ran once and poked his nose through. This will also take defence off the playmakers. Maybe we are missing Joey at training?

F all mate. I saw us lose a 6 again when Moses put his hand on a tackled player in the ruck. I then saw Friend do it a f'n million times without consequences. Maybe you could hear me screaming from my place?

But Gunco ran very well a couple of times off the back of the ruck. Gunco is quicker than Reed. Perhaps Reed could identify further opportunities to at least engage the defence when Gunco isn’t at the ruck.
And yeah Guncos call near the end to overrule Moses and Drown on the last tackle was bad.

I struggled to give 321s because there were a heap of players like that. Did some really awesome stuff but then made either bonehead decision or missed a tackle.
Gunco - was great around the ruck and kick returns but some terrible decisions and part of us going side to side aimlessly
Sivo - murdered Tedesco but gets stripped easily just before halftime
Jenko - Manu who? then gets binned
Blake - not so awesome and got shown up by old man Morris
Fergo - awesome on kick returns but he’s not involving himself enough
Drown - superb second half, directionless 1st half and got stepped by old man Morris
Moses - similar to Drown
Nrown - 4th tackle settler revelations! But then gets penalised for looking at Catley
Matto - probably our best all round but that Keary break was on his side and similar to the Croft break
Lane - awesome at times, missing in others
Mahoney - those kicks and abusing his teammates to kick chase! But misses a one on one
RCG/Junior - struggled when Rorters jumped the gate, but dominated when they came back on
Bench - only really noticed the poor things BUT we weren’t massacred on score while they were on

Ok. So has Alvaro and Will Smith and George Jennings

My statement (obviously) was within the context of Chiefy's comment.
I know Takairangi has been totally erratic and unpredictable over the years. Like, Derr. But Waqa Blake has been pretty underwhelming so far, I reckon - apart from his attacking display recently. I kind of thought, "about f**king time". And then he serves up that shit on Saturday night. I'm just not convinced about him yet.

We also shut down Keary for most of the game.

Legit question - is there anyone you are convinced about?

Same for me. Blake had 5 mins of good footy since joining that I can recall.
When Fergo first came, he used to score alot of tries and alot of breaks happened down his end.

Since Blake joined, hardly see Fergo get a chance. Mainly rucking it out.

Alot of plays do goto Matto though. Maybe Fergo has to run lines coming back in so Moses can goto Matto short or Blake long or Fergo coming back in.
