I reckon our intensity dropped as soon as we hit the front, our next set with the ball was only average and our kick chase was quite poor. It’s something we can definitely work on going forward.

I thought Kaufusi was very good against such quality opposition with so little football under his belt. He should be a regular in our 17 going forward.

Yeah he made meters and bent the line. He is one forward who they should try and isolate close to the line. His footwork and power makes him hard to stop. He also looks like he wants to offload given a chance.
Evan's and him off the bench add some starch. Terepo is a handy back up. Niakoure does a solid job but does need to find and offload or a pass before line otherwise he will eventually slip down the pecking order. His running game alone isn't good enough to guarantee a top spot long term

Placing blame on individuals is irrelevant at the moment. Its game management and pushed passes at the wrong time is what's going wrong. We're also going side to side too often and pushed over the sideline too frequently.
Agree with the side to side.

I just think having 2 more bench players that could actually add some valuable contributions to the team rather than errors and dumb penalties (hello stone and Terepo) would actually be a good thing.

I think Gower would offer more than Stone or Peni at this stage, particularly if we are not gonna use Stone for 10-15min to give Reed a rest

But of course we don't know how he has been hitting them in the nets :p

Is Will Smith an option as a 15 min bench player - as dummy half to rest Reed? Would be more explosive at dummy half than just about anyone else in our top 30 - (ducks for cover)

W.Smith can break the line and cause havoc. Has a few weapons people forget about. He is perfect for a guy who may not even be used or just as a 15min spell.
You will have games where you wont use him at all and games where easily in control so may as well rest Mahoney and give will 30mins in those ones. Could even rest Moses if your by 3 scores and 15 to go etc...

3 tries to 2 in the end. Roosters were better on the night. Could have been anyone’s gam

He’s not an NRL standard player. It’s that simple.

I thought Stone showed his inexperience in a crunch game
Maybe so but his minimal game time and injurys havent helped his development. I love his mongrel and could be a terrific replacement for Nrown but sadly I feel hes missed his chance. That said Terepo appears to have an endless supply of opportunities. Obviously has naked pics of BA.

We cannot write Blake off after one crappy game. He has been a revelation to me over the previous 2 weeks. We ought to see how he responds. Hopefully he is a player who wants to make it up to his team mates.

f**k the sin bin ... it happened, live with it

But the tackle from Drown immediately before it was awesome. Drown was standing next to Jennings. As soon as he saw a potential break he piss bolted to the other side of the field to make a brilliant try saver. Meanwhile jenko just loafed back down his side of the field and never got within 5m of being onside.

He obviously thought he was playing for the Roosters again and assumed it was ok to push the boundaries like that because usually the referee just blows a penalty and no sin bin.

I agree.

I reckon Waqa Blake is class.

He was given a bath by a way more experienced (and a high quality) player.

He will learn from this.
