Why are people booing Corey Norman? It’s not like he dudded us or anything. Seems a bit silly for mine... still in awe of this stadium, it’s never gets old. I have gone over to @TheRam’s camp though, not a fan of the seat colours.

Is this the same Corey who looked half assed in a lot of our games when we needed energy and direction? The same bloke that made poor off field choices including the time the club suspended him for 8 games and cost us any chance of finals playoffs? Deserved every single boo imo

No effort on the kick chase yet again. Compared to a fortnight ago there are big problems in this group.

massive problems, we should have piled on over 60 today, disgraceful

Just my thoughts.

1. Merkins here have to stop writing us off after 20 minutes. Some of the comments were just plain stupid. "Same old Parra" for example. Well, we aren't the same old Parra. Even at 0 - 14 down, I still thought we'd get back into it. "Can't win with Ashley Klein". How did that go?

2. Salmon is doing a fine job at 5/8th. He is a good foil for Moses, as opposed to Norman last year when both our halves didn't really know who was to take control. Also, his defense is excellent, and on the odd occasion he will create a surprise in attack. Otherwise, he is one of those back up players that is depth. He's good depth.

3. Moeroa won't ever be a superstar. He's a hard working toiler. Didn't have his best game today but did a lot of work. Every team needs a player like him. We have some other flashy forwards who can do the fancy work.

4. Great to have Mau back. He's a beast.

5. If we can get our best team on the field consistently, we'll give this comp a shake. Never thought I'd say this but we missed Timmy today. Such a shame that Dylan Brown's season may be over.

6. 2nd great win in a row at our new home. This is how we create a fortress. Just like the Wanderers, Homebush has been an absolute f**king curse for the past 2 seasons for the Eels. We now have the opportunity to make other teams scared to come and play at Bankwest, even when it is their home game. Imagine the mindset of the Tigers when they play us there next. It's their home game and we put 50 on them last time. We only get this chance once to make opposing teams scared to come here, like the Storm, Cowboys, Knights and Raiders have done. We have to make the most of it.

7. Now is the time to get BA and Guth re-signed. It would do wonders for confidence and stability. Get it done.

** EDIT**

8. If we all thought we'd start this season with 5 wins from 8 starts, we'd all have been ecstatic and taken it. It's been an amazing turn around from our wooden spoon season last year. Keep the faith peeps!!

man of reason *applauds*

I think it is a stupid rule but the rule is if the ball leaves the in gaol (in play) in order for it to be ruled dead it must bounce first, a player cannot step out and touch the ball dead.

I can't explain the logic but i just know it is the rule. I don't know if it applies to anywhere other than the in goal i have just seen it applied multiple times over the years.

So, I ask again, I think I've seen it happen with players catching bombs. Or am I mistaken?

crowd 25,700 odd thereabouts, so over 3k less than the opener

More worrying a little, is that a lot more dragqueen supporters than tigers. A mate reckons there was 25-30% red and white supporters there. And this was Sunday 4pm, Maybe we will be lucky to get to 20k v Panthers in a few weeks on a thursday night at 750pm kickoff

Agreed.

Surely a few rain drops today couldn't have deterred so many Eels fans not to turn up today?
Particularly when it was announced this morning that there was only 600 tickets left.

Off a bomb it is irrelevant i guess because if you catch it in the in-gaol in goes out to the 20 anyways, it is something to do with the bounce.

Oh and it is only in defence of the bounce too, obviously the attacking team can't put their foot out and push the ball back in before it bounces without it being dead, as that player is then dead and can't influence the play.

It's probably a rule written in 1908 and no-one has ever revisited it?

I actually think it's a new-ish rule.

Definitely when I was doing the refs cert if a player was in touch and took the ball, it was dead off the kicker.

Come to think of it, they've changed it a few times. Remember when they had that stupid "ball crossing the plane" rule?

A shit load of members did not turn up today, i went over to the Eels47 bar to see a mate and looked at the Eastern Side and about 15 minutes before kick off i was amazed at how little amount of members turned up when i know that the 4 bays around me is pretty much full with ticketed members.

I wouldn't say 25% were Dragons supporters but there were more than Tigers for sure.

The rain is a reason but i will go with the pathetic display last week that wouldn't have helped either!

Ok. I'll take your word for it. I haven't a clue what the rule is but today certainly confused me.
And, can you stop calling it the in-gaol!! Your'e making me nervous. :)

At game I just noticed poor kick chase. That is easy fixed
What I did like is we played some footy.
On Lane I mean where do you rate him for 2nd rowers? I said start of year he could take off and be close to origin level. I think he has reached that. He would be maybe the best 2nd rower for what he is being paid. Great player.
Lane seems to play middle/edge. Poo? He makes a lot of last ditch tackles. Yes a tad quieter but id hate to think of the result today without him. A massive signing. Like you Hindy Im a big fan.

Oops, sorry in-goal......the in-goal is kind of a gaol though.......

I only know it because it gets the same reaction every time it happens and usually the commentators bang on about it for 25 minutes after. It probably only happens 3 or 4 times a year though.

Lane sheilded the ball and hit hisnleg. No difference then if kick ball dead imo.

Yeah it's only a few years old I think. Was changed because we seemed to get a few cases of attacking players diving like maniacs from the in-goal and tapping it back in and a try being scored. And everyone enjoyed that.

impressed with the food today

Mate had the chicken deluxe sandwich, filling was quite generous $7.50
I had the Italian sandwich was was very nice as well same price

He is a coffee nut and searched everywhere and found only one place that sold coffee at the stadium and the queue was very long (this was during the wenty game). So not sure if there is a demand to put in more sections with coffee

Having sat at the Cronin terrace in our first game, we had GA tickets today (North side) and it threw me off a little. The GA section is actually on the higher tier (steep steps) of the stadium, whereas I assumed it would be the bottom deck. No complaints, view brilliant, we were about halfway up
