Are we going to offer Matto a new contract...it's a effn must.
Make it happen. Let's not forget we are losing Papalii, Nuikore, Cartwright is not really a starter in BAs eyes and unless we sign Briton Nikora we will be short of backrowers despite the fact Matto plays more as a middle. He is very versatile and playing outstanding this year...give him a contract ASAP

Don't get me wrong, he hasn't been terrible, but I feel like he has coasted a bit in the past, plus he's had his issues with concussion which has kept him out of a lot of games.

Maybe the Dogs or the Knights will make room to make an offer we don't want to match, but I wouldn't be upping whatever he's currently on by much, slight increase perhaps but negligible all the same. I don't think on the whole he has provided full value for money over the course of his deal with us...

I certainly wouldn't offer more than what he's on now but agree he hasn't always performed at the current level for whatever reasons. I hope the concussion issues are behind him and maturity allows him to realise he is at a very competitive club who are a good chance at winning a comp for a fair few years yet.

They would get 40+ between To’o and Edwards most games. It just depends on the other winger. For us the only member of the back three making 20 runs is Gutherson, and I actually think he’s less effective when he is too involved.

I think most teams would hit 45 runs from their back three every week. When I get home I might have a look but probably won’t.

Yeh, I suspected that as well, but when I checked some games on foxsports match centres it wasn't what I expected. In Round 8 about a third of the teams had 45 runs from the back three. Penrith do get in the mid high 40s almost every week. We were in the 40s against Cronulla, the Knights and Penriff.

I think he’s best at fullback/halves, but he has played most of his NRL at centre. He seems to have NRL potential. It’s just a matter of getting his defence right.

Took a week off here (and life haha) after our inept showing last week. What a turn around last night. Halfway through the second half I had it in my head we’d probably still lose but I’d seen enough to know when we are on we can match it with anyone. Fantastic and deserved effort. The key now is to play with a similar intensity in the majority of our games from here in.

Hindy111 was forthright in his convictions about judging him come round 10, not round 2...
