Recruitment wise, RCG is another Vaughan and so should be easy pickings for Millward. Just sign him up now as De Belin's replacement. He meets all of the NRL's requirement for salary cap relief.

I just noticed that this is my 10,00th post on this forum!
Well Possm, you are legendary status then...

Wouldn't it be nice if we could land RCG before June 30? We would then have the remainder of this season and the next off-season to get him up to speed possibly the bookend to Vaughan.

Yes it would..but other clubs have big money available...eg Dogs...would also be closer relocation wise for RCG....Not always as easy as people make out....

P.S Maybe Korbin and Tariq can have a word in his ear.

Yes that would be a move in the right direction. If Millward spoke with his manager to find out what the asking price is and table our best deal possible, even if it means discarding some deadwood that would be great as well.

Millward is always looking...take that as a given....there are other factors working against him which have already been documented here so I am not going to repeat them on a public forum....

Millward is doing a good job, despite what some think.....

I think JDB is on 550k per year plus long service allowance. If there is any dollars left over in our cap, add some of it to the 550k to win RGC's signature.

Not that simple....we don't get JDB full amount for this year and club is standing by him so may factor this into future plans........as I stated above, other clubs may offer more.....and the days of paying overs are gone..

Millward is being paid the big bucks to bring home the bacon. Aren't we tired of the excuses from SGI management?

With all due respect, you are not seeing the full picture. I am not here to argue with you in regards to Millward and believe me info i have been told ( I will not name source ) is that he is doing a good job with many factors working against him...You cannot lump everything into 1 simplistic bag....

I'll leave it at that...have a Good day possm

I'd rather we focus on landing a top grade centre and winger. We have reserve graders in 1-5 lining up today.

Dude, no offense, but how is he doing a good job? By what measures? We are an embarrassment on the TPA front and Wollongong is a disincentive for recruits. I'll give you those two factors as things beyond his control that he has to work against. But we have no obvious recruitment strategy addressing positions of weakness and he's overseen the signing of a succession of clear failures, including the job lot of reserve grade backs and bench forwards he bought in this year. The stated policy is to recruit for value, except we don't. Value implies that we pay under for players who deliver above what they cost. We pay reserve grade prices for reserve grade footballers who continue to play reserve grade football when they end up in first grade.

Unless the planks and marshmallow eaters we've recruited over the past couple of seasons have been brought in over his head, he's culpable for their failure to improve the side. And if they were brought in over his head, why is he there?
