Realistic team for 2011

We have the same team as last year (pretty much, what like 2 changes?) and we made the top 7, except one thing has changed this year (and also late last year), was that the coach? uhhh... yeh it was

Don't get my wrong i think we need some high end players as well, but any great coach can change nobodies into half decent players. Coach change is main priority for me anyways

Kimmorley is exactly what we need. Experience and a smart head in the one position that needs it - unlike that buffoon that we have there now.

Beau Henry will be great long-term, but we need some maturity for him and the team to learn off.

We won't get Henry and Kimmorley Alex. You've said it a few times but if we get either of them it will be one or the other. Henry won't come here to play NSW Cup when he has other clubs banging down the door.

ball slows you down, and ive looked at the two times he has been ran down and it has been two very fast players, kemp and gordon. and the kemp run down he didnt pin his ears back he was thinking of the fullback. and the gordon run down, aku had a player holding on to his jersey while gordon had started running to catch him

Spot on.

As far as the team goes.

1. Gidley
2. Uate
3. Pete
4. Sau
5. Vuna
6. Mullen
7. Henry
8. Cross
9. Degoise
10. Snowden or Tolman
11. Taia
12. Patto
13. O'donell

14. Taufua
15. Faas
16. Tui
17. rogers/hilder (depending on the opposition and if we need defence or attack)

That is only three key signings that wouldnt cost the world, we would still have $$ to spare under the cap and i think that team looks pretty strong.

We aren't going to get Henry if he thinks he may have to play second fiddle to Brett Finch for the next 3 or 4 years. He'll come here if he knows he'll get a shot next year, not wait in line. He can do that at St George...

Sorry - I get what you mean now, didn't think about that before!

With NZ signing both MAteo and Inu that means less teams in the race for Storm players. Inglis and Cronk *dreaming......

While I didn't particular want either, your right GK, just means everyone else will be chasing the others a lot harder........

I hate myself for being so negative but deadset that will be 2011 team at the rate we are going.

Baron i thik GK was making a positive comment if im not mistaken... highlighting that NZ will no longer be in the hunt for players we might actually want.

I hope your wrong about 2011 but i understand exactly why your not getting your hopes up.

Your view is pretty valid aswell man. I'm just not really excited by the possiblity of us signing either Kimmorley or Henry. Ones too young and inexperienced when what we need is consistency and leadership in the halves to partner Mullen while Kimmorley is too old and is pretty much reaching the end of his career.

I reckon Gidley would go okay in the centres.

Uate at fullback though... 100% agree with Perverse. No thanks.

my thoughts exactly. i would say a new halfback and coach should be at the very top of our to do list

Mateo and Inu aren't decent players... if they didnt play for the Eels (and hence have the media spooging all over them), they wouldn't be rated.

most weeks, most of the team doesn't even have a genuine dig. the list of blokes who can generally hold their head high as far as effort goes would be something like -

- Aku
- Pato
- Crossy
- Gidley for his few games thus far

...

i'm not sure i can honestly pick anyone else, taking the whole year into account. it's not that they don't have the talent, they genuinely don't have the heart right now. if that's the coaches fault, then so be it... but my suspicions are still that there's a big question mark that we can't see from the outside looking in.
