CC crying out for a team in the NRL.
Got an opportunity with Warriors and bugger all attended.
At least the Qld venues are filling nicely for games (albeit small venues).

NRL needs to rethink. Availability of product esp in Sydney is way too much. And most watch on TV anyway so will support a Sydney team if they relocate.
As a Bears fan I can say with 100% certainty that that isn't the case.

Sure a relocation would have been a better outcome than what happened, but it still would have alienated most of the fanbase. I can still remember all the people saying that they were planning to give the club up once the team relocated to the CC. The merger happened instead, but the effect was the same.

Chance for the good people of Moreton bay to show they want a club today, has the double header sold out yet?
It's a good chance for the Dolphins to sell club merchandise and advertise their bid via field markings, like they did during a Queensland Cup match televised by the ABC on a Sat arvo around 1 and a half decades ago during their legal dispute with the proposed "Gold Coast Dolphins" bid. I think they wrote "We Are The Dolphins" on the field in massive letters. They could probably write something like #DolphinsNRL.

Is there still stadium capacity limitations in qlnd? Looks less than half full.
I'm not sure. The SEQ Councils have restrictions in place. People still have to wear a mask indoors and can only invite a couple of people into their premises at any given time. Hospitals are only allowing two people at any given time to see dying relatives.

The best way to make sure you never get a club of your own is to show up to a rent a club's games in numbers.

Look at it from the governing body's point of view; why waste a license on a place if they are satisfied with a handful of games a season. May as well call that city job done, and put the license somewhere else where it can be used to increase market share, like GWS or the GC...

Take it from me, you don't want to be to the NRL what Tasmania and Canberra are to the AFL. The only reason Tasmania is being talked about at all by the AFL at the moment is because they are refusing to play ball anymore, and good on them as well.

I still don't get the point of the Dolphin Oval revamp. No roof to provide cover from the sun or rain. No second tier stand to bring the capacity up to NRL standard.

It is a second division ground, a very good one at that. it’s not close to being a suitable 21st century nrl stadium. When it was redone it was done so for second division. With only three sides it would be very hard to make it a decent 25k plus stadium.

It would be great if they could get 5k-8k to their Queensland Cup matches. Maybe they should rebrand as Moreton Bay and try to develop a fanbase throughout Moreton Bay Region?

I dont know what? That it was built for Qlnd cup in its current configuration, yep it was as it isnt NRL standrad. That it would be hard to build a 25k with only three sides, yep thats just obvious. You would need to take down the two main stands and replace them with a 12-14k main spectator stand and a corporate stand with another 8k seats. Mucho moola needed.

Where is it said that stadium was strictly for 2nd division team?! Dolphins always have had ambitions for NRL & stadiums can be built with idea of expansion in mind. Melbourne rectangular stadium is an example of that
