Besides the fact I support the Dogs I would really love to see us get up in the GF just for Pops

Don't take me too seriously old mate, very few things I hate but inner SW Sydney is one, I just use the Dogs as a scapegoat. Dessie will have done a great job if he takes the cup, he's like a headmaster at Boy's Town and it can't it be easy against flashy teams.

Between you and I what matters is that the game be decided by the players so if the Dogs can win without favours on the day they will deserve it as much as any team that wins the same way. If they miss out it won't detract from the fact the CB Bulldogs will always retain an aura that many clubs are seeking

Yes , once again it was too easy to get your go to backdown tail between your legs response.

Blog

You don't get it do you. I don't have any idea what a blog is, someone used the term yonks ago to describe what I write. A mobile phone is something I push the red button to turn off and it can be carried around in my pocket. I couldn't be bothered learning how to post a link, I don't even know how to post one of those funny orange faces you cream your jeans over

My days of smacking arrogant pricks like you in the mouth are gone, out of reach at least, so I sit down and write what comes into my head on the spur of the moment about the only sport that interests me and at the same time attract wankers such as yourself. You've got as little chance of intimidating me as the thousands that have failed in the last 66 years.

I'm willing to bet 80% of the people here could sit down with me, swap bullshit and drink until closing. It's not hard to imagine you being shown the door long before . . . incidentally, your grammar deteriorates the more shaky you become

Pitiful, Walter just pitiful. I'm willing to bet 80% of people wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. The other 20% would have started it.

I haven't been sitting anywhere you dribbling fetid hunk of stupidity. I'm replying to your sob story post at my leisure. Walter, you're embarrassing yourself, again.

Do what I do, when scrolling through threads and I come across a post of yours, as well as a few others I needn't mention I skip over without reading. You might consider my posts repetitious but I do it for the probably misguided reason that someone may take notice eventually. Most of my stuff is tongue-in-cheek that probably goes over your head and no more repetitious than your constant baying over it.

You can ignore the portion of my posts that aren't repetitious or you can ignore them all, POPEYE is in caps so you can't be mistaken, don't go looking for what I write and you'll be able to sleep easier. I found early on what you write is mostly trite, so as I say do what I do and don't follow me around like a lost puppy.

So... You skip my post without reading and still reply?

Dementia.

Wow, you blokes are still here, plodders you may be but you warrant more attention than I can spare atm. Talk to yourselves while I'm away celebrating a birthday and I'll get back to you . . . and don't think I don't appreciate the bumping, pity you're only a duo

Have it your way, you condescending, waffling, self important delusional, repetitive git.
Nobody is following you around. It's a public board on the internet, not a private soirée.
Cue popoff claiming victory.

Settle down ol' mate, I don't have to claim victory, nor do I want to. I just want to write what I think and let other people judge if it's worthy of consideration. Give you a tip, don't think you can come on a forum and seriously imagine that you're going to change opinions, best you can hope for is to speak your piece and have a little fun doing it. You and your bum buddy were gone the minute youse lost control . . . as Jeff would say

I'm off to spend the day meeting with friends at Lithgow because it's half way travel, although the best part of the place is the road out there is some good coffee and a yarn to be had. On the way in we'll pass Lithgow Gaol and I reckon part of the conversation will be about the enigmatic Russell Packer sitting in the joint trying to decide which NRL club he's going to

Was the bloke really that good, Broncos/Dragons/Panthers said to be clamouring for his signature seem to think so. Maybe everyone knew he had what it takes but were waiting for something he had they didn't want to be exorcised.

Instead of sending Carney off to France or Ferguson to Mundine everything would be made ok if they did some rehab at Lithgow. If you've ever seen the joint you'd understand why a bloke leaving it should be given a second chance

Gosh. Homosexual innuendo.

Do you go as 'The Fatman' at social outings?

And as for your tired old ''settle down' line - I'm not irritated, I'm just calling a spade a spade.

He's serving a gaol sentence. The location of the facility is irrelevant.

Good point.

My point was a little more cynical, maybe even cryptic by the way I slipped Lithgow in, considering blokes like Carney and Monaghan were virtually exiled for comparable misdemeanors whereas in a probably shorter period of time Packer may be forgiven

What is it now, 5 candidates for the job of coaching the Tigers, which one is best suited for the peculiar circumstances the club appears to be facing. Not peculiar in a derogatory way but it's not a simple matter of a coach not being good enough to coach being replaced by one that is.

Easy too to say that the right man will have to do better than the Mayor of Hamelin, just keeping Pied Piper Robbie happy is akin to a dog chasing it's tail until it becomes exhausted. Imo Anthony Griffin is the man for the job, then again I reckoned Potter should have been given a fairer go.

Hook has suffered a little in the past from the occasional dubious player positional choices but he does have a strong enough persona to drag the playing group's eyes away from Farah who when concentrating solely on his job goes from a gremlin to a leader. Brownie is once bitten twice shy, Nathan by now however appears to have strengthened his standing so he may be capable of slapping Robbie into shape

Not sure about Kidwell or Payten, if/how they manipulated their way into the running is anyone's guess and Taylor may even be the technical brains behind the Roosters but he'd be canon fodder for Robbie. So, no need to guess that imo Robbie Farah is the key to selecting the coach, could have been just as easy to keep Potter and bid Farah farewell but there has been far too much peripheral damage

Been over 50 years of intense interest in League for me, during that time I've categorised more players than I can remember into groups, ranging from 'Scintillating' to 'Capable'. One of those groups close to my heart is Hitmen, the Randall/Hilditch amongst many breed.

The hardest group to label however is my favourite, maybe 'Absolutely Necessary' for want of a better name. Top name on that list is Tawera Nikau, and he is the epitome of players that didn't need to damage, outplan or outguess, just plain intimidate because of their presence.

A couple still playing are Jeremy Smith and Beau Scott, Guerra is developing and there are others. These blokes thrive living on the fence between the bright and dark side, I can't get enough of watching them play above their weight and stretch their luck to the breaking point.

So, I still need to be reminded why Rugby League is losing Ben Te'o to Union

Yesterday was a rare one for me, I began it full of good vibes and am still mystified how it went pear shaped. To tell the truth I probably jinxed myself because for the first time in many years I tried again to watch a game of AFL. There I was looking at a stadium full of people enthusiastic about something akin to Romper Room on steroids and at the same time feeling as though I was lost alone on a desert island

I found out so many people go to AFL games because they televise the shit with an ad after points scored and there are a lot of f**king points scored. I managed to hang in until halfway through the first quarter when I gave up caring if Sydney would disappoint Victoria, wasn't worth the trauma even if the good vibes hadn't deserted me yet

Back in the real world feeling sure the Panthers were going to trounce the Dogs because the vibes said they would I again came away mystified. I imagine people will be asking why Soward played like McCrone, complete with the vacant look that lasted for 80, but imo the bloke I voted for as coach of the year is responsible.

It was a fait accompli that once Cleary got the boys in for oranges he would tell them to stop wearing themselves out running the ball sideways, make the Dog's middle collapse through exhaustion the same way they've done to other teams and tell Jamie to stop being a traffic cop. The vibes told me this was going to happen

Forget any 'Dogs did good bullshit', they will need a miracle to contain the Rabbitohs in the 2nd half next week, they will be like bus drivers in a rally . . . and I've probably jinxed Souths right there

I think nerves got the better of them Pop's. You have to give credit to the Dogs defence as well, it was very good. Still, it has been a stellar year at the foot of the mountains, I am a bit sad it couldn't last another week. It has been a pleasure watching the team put in for 80 minutes each week, something we could never manage under Elliott. Ivan & the team should be proud.

AFL GF was like watching election coverage.
Penrith were below their best in an important game.
You knew that Lithgow is part of the Panthers' catchment area, right?
