It's alright for me to criticise people like Hornby and McCrone for the Raiders by pointing out that they are
not adequate playmakers but it has to be noted that they were thrown the jumper, they didn't steal it.
Keating and Reynolds for the Dogs are exactly the same quality when it comes to initiating anything.

They all are better than most of the thousands of blokes playing, but none can grab a game by the scruff
of the neck like Thurston, Cronk, Lockyer, Adam Reynolds, Pritchard, Marshall on a good day, etc.
The Dragons compensated with their defence but the Raiders are playing with one hand behind their back
and the addition of any one of the top playmakers would turn chalk into cheese.

This is oen of your trolling moments yeah?

So, you think the Rabbits and Dogs could have got where they are without Reynolds or Pritchard and the
Raiders still wouldn't be knocking the door down if they had either . . . taking it for granted Furner could
get the best from them.

All we really want is to be entertained so who gives a shit if the game is contrived. Of course, it ceases
to be a sport and becomes a stage play but a good play will beat a game of League any day. Does it
matter if there are key personalities who get preferential treatment or that some teams are seen to
just make up the chorus.

No-one takes a stage play seriously and League should be the same if we want to keep our sanity.
The support actors can be lousy, like the referees, as long as leading actors put on a good show.
Who cares what dumb critics , like the judiciary, say as long as we know what we're watching is
make believe.

We must feel for the proprietor of the theatre, John Grant, however. He's got fellows like Rothfield
lurking in the wings, knife in hand, and scandals such as The Minichello Affair threatening to bring down
the curtain on opening night. When the 'grand finale' on closing night is at hand we should be content in
the knowledge that all is not as it seems, but it was worth the price of admission.

I think they are both good players and have done well this year. I don't think either of them have as much an impact on their team (or any possible team we could magically transport them to) as the other guys you have mentioned.

There you go, I rate them as the difference between their teams being there and not being there, but
opinions are allowed to vary.

Gotta love SBW, he tells it as it is. Why bother with League unless you have to. He's just stepped up to
be in line as a permanent All Black, where he can travel the world in the best team of a truly international
competition.

Now that he's assured frequent flyer status seems a bit silly to relinquish that for a struggling poorly
coached League team that is disjointed mid season by games he can't even play in. Was it really a
man's handshake . . . maybe the thumb wasn't engaged bikie-style like real men do.

Who's Politis anyway. Clearly losing it going by some of his latest decisions and nobody's gonna care
if Sonny reneges again, least of all anyone in the many countries he'll be visiting.

Not only has the Footy Show found a home in the rubbish bin it seems the ladder out of it for Fatty may
have been removed. I've only watched the show twice since it's inception because imo Fatty was only
ever a mascot for Qld and Manly but now that's in danger with a real hero like Petero defaming him.

Laurie, Brad and Trent . . . sorta reinforces 'the better the player the more lousy the coach'. Barrett
may be passable enough to carry the other two in tactics but c'mon, some believable inspiration will
be needed surely.

Appears Matty has been into Andrew's medicine cabinet . . . or maybe not. Come to think of it he
could be right about Manly's halves being the best combination in the game. As individuals they are
competent but as a duo a standout, which makes the team they're in the brightest dark horse in the field.

Whoa, hang on, I'm not finished for the morning yet. Just noticed the Warriors may offer Bellamy
4 million to jump ship. Hope John Grant can do something about that. Can you imagine what the
coach most renowned for tutoring the new and reconditioning the old will do with a bottomless pit of talent.

NZ travel brochures will be sent to every disillusioned players' household and every young warrior
will be told no need to leave home soil to make a name for himself. Journo wankers will be calling
for the introduction of another NZ team to combat the unfairness. Kasiano, Jeremy Smith and Tamou
to name a few may get homesick and Cooper, Billy and Cameron may fancy an extended holiday.

Heaven forbid.

Oh, I almost forgot. No SOO as a boat anchor

Well, there you go. If a forward pack is not intimidated by f**king ugly Beirut beards the Dogs can be
made look ordinary. I'll keep saying it . . . when the Raiders consistently implement a game plan they
will be hard to beat by anyone. The way Canberra kept the Dogs on a chain was more impressive than
the points put on them.

If Barba wants to be more than half the player Slater is he'll have to learn that defence is not something to keep dingoes out.

I can't believe that fairfax or news limited haven't asked POPTART to write a column for them yet. Surely such insightful gibberish should be rewarded. :thumb:

Hot on the heels of the usual Storm/Broncos rumble and at Brookie no-one needed worry about betting
responsibly and its plain to see swamp men aren't interested in trinkets, only Des's head hanging in the
foyer will do.

I struggle to keep a grasp on reality at the best of times but Breivik and Minichello need only buy a
single ticket each in this week's Lotto.

Luke's relegation surely doesn't come as a surprise to many. He's been doing his best to impersonate
his country's captain most of the year. Maguire doesn't strike me as a fan of canons rolling around the
deck when the coup de grace is at hand.

Never thought I'd say this but the Andy and Freddie Show last night was a breath of fresh air from a
dying dinosaur. Having one man's IQ between two men and a medicine cabinet handy was all that is
needed to save Nine. I'm actually looking forward to Friday night with volume now.

Not sure how much butterfingers and mediocre refereeing contributed but Cowboys v Knights was a
most intriguing and entertaining game. Anthony Mitchell, who it seems is more uncoachable the closer
he gets to the Harbour Bridge, is filling in well in the State to which he belongs.

I couldn't get into the Dragons/Warriors game because I've been painting all day and preferred to
watch it dry.

I suppose we're lucky New Zealanders are more interested in Rugby than League. I've always thought
that if Australia dropped League we would easily become the strongest Rugby nation on the planet.
I'm now convinced however that if NZ dropped Rugby to concentrate on League their warrior attitude
would see Australia flounder.

Seems we've given up on the ball so maybe it's time to develop gloves that won't tear skin off. Is it
just a coincidence the Cowboys score the most points but complete less sets doing it. They play more
games in NQ humidity and last night's game could have had a different outcome played in a lower
lattitude.

Tighe is more valuable than Jennings imo. A good journeyman will always be more reliable than a
prima donna and far less waste of money. He doesn't run away from his support as does Jennings and
knows his job as a team player.

This is going to ruffle a few feathers and being so sensitive I may lose sleep. Since Singleton has given
up on a club for Central Coast maybe the Sharks should think about moving there. At least play more
games there than Manly and thereby associate themselves with the area, just in case relocation is forced
upon them.

You havent watched many Panthers games in the past couple of years have you? Tighe had a fantastic game yesterday & credit to him, but performances like that from him are few & far between. The past 2 years for some reason our "attack" seems to favour the right side. More often than not the raid ends with Tighe being dominated or dropping the ball. Get the bloke into open space & not many will run him down, but he relies on someone else creating the space for him most times.

Jennings can do it on his own. When Jennings has someone creating for him he is pretty much unstoppable. As for bang for buck between the 2 it is difficult to say. Without seeing both contracts how could anyone really know anyway. In my opinion I would prefer 1 Jennings in the top 25 than 3 Tighes.

I like Brad, but dont see a spot for him in our starting 17 next year, he will of course get a run due to injuries etc.

I've watched enough games to think that Jennings will never be SOO material and is highly overrated
and over paid in club games . . . but opinions are what forums are supposed to be about.

Worth a chortle Hut? . . . a wry smile at least. This Roosters roster could see great things Taylor-made
for it so let's hope common sense prevails next season. Jason would have a better chance of getting
value from the incoming 5/8 imo and these promising young blokes wouldn't end up in a too-hard basket.
