This thread doesn't need life, it just needs understanding . . . if you knew how hard that was to type after 3 bottles of NZ wine and Bellyache
standing next to me laughing his guts up you'd understand. Hopefully he'll piss off and let me get on with it . . . f**k knows what I did to deserve this.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE A HARD HITTING AND SUCCESSFUL COLUMNIST popeye YOU HAVE TO BE PREPARED
TO TAKE CRITICISM. IF YOU CAN'T TAKE

THE HEAT IN THE YABBIE POT THEN GET OUT.

You pair of easybeats always hold'em when you should fold'em. You still haven't figured out I have to put up with bellyache
not just on a forum. I'm quite sure I will handle criticism from any of the learned people here well when it eventuates.

Crikey, I'd have to drop a few kilos to wear white for a party shitstir. Bellamy could at least go to a club with an interesting jersey
. . . even the Roosters or the Eels. Second thoughts I can't afford jerseys now and the Storm are no longer any more of a statement
than half the rest so I will be content just following any team that is coached well . . . with one exception.

Not sure whether Bellamy at 54 would want to go through what he did at 44 if the money was anywhere near the same, especially
considering Benny only just snagged a pissant cup when a main adversary was in turmoil, and is now trying to fight off finishing with
his tail between his legs. Be a brave move for Craig but a damned interesting one just the same

You've left out the best team I've followed, and probably the best team in the history of the game, the mighty Gibson coached Roosters.
Inclination went with Jack and now time is against me . . . great Rugby League is now all that interests me.

Ah that's right, I forgot Gibson coached the Roosters. Yeah I can appreciate good rugby league too, which is why I hope he comes to Saints. Wouldn't mind him developing players like Stockwell, Cummins, King, Drinkwater, etc.

Don't give up on Price just yet. Bellamy is like a great player looking towards the setting sun. The game needs Price, Furner, Potter etc to succeed more than it needs Bellamy

True, I'll never knock Price. He's got a two-year contract and deserves it. Hopefully he improves this year, it'd be nice to develop a great coach from our own ranks if we miss out on Bellamy.

Agreed but I think it's a bit like Nathan Brown. Having developed for so long in one club he actually needed to go elsewhere to live up to his potential.

I can buy that Hardbaby. Just wish Bellamy would announce; he said before Christmas, now it's before the end of January, it's making the off-season more frustrating than it already is.

The wankers that are still pronouncing Bellamy a pretender might be right and maybe his luck mightn't be transferable.
Chambers for instance is the next best centre in the game after Lyon but who says he wouldn't be anyway, and other
than introducing Jeremy Smith, Folau, Inglis, Hoffman, White, King, Blair, Aubusson, Manu, Tolman, Proctor, Maloney,
Bromwich, O'Neill, Widdop or Duffie, what's he got to brag about other than the big three.

We know Lima, Turner, Kidwell, Quinn, Newton, Hinchcliffe, Lowrie, Norrie, Lowe, Waqa, Ryles amongst others weren't
really rejects and would have been champions in any other team if Bellamy hadn't of bothered. So, if the Dragons do
miss out it's probably no big deal.

The centre of interest for me in '13 will be the fortunes of the Titans and Raiders, these are the two that I'm not comfortable
about guessing how they'll go. Teams that languish when you think they shouldn't are always a mystery and I'd like nothing
better to see them kick arse. Odd as it may seem I think the Titans could have the better chance of breaking out.

Raiders still obsessed with Campese, an accident waiting to happen, is a drawback but imo Furner has a lot to offer and hopefully
unlike Brown at the Dragons will get the support he needs. Both teams have the right coach and just need someone to convert
training into the real thing. Just one of these teams stepping up will do me.

Anderson talking to retired players about taking on refereeing is a giant step in forward thinking in an off season that could be a
bookmark for the game. Imo a concerted effort to encourage players that are mentally and physically acceptable encouraged
to take up the whistle is a priority. Paying big money to entice these people to continue after playing would be a wise investment.

Steve Menzies, for example, could have spent the last couple of years doing an abbreviated course on the task and Patten would
have more than enough speed in the legs and between the ears to convert his talents. There are many you could think of that if
offered a chance to earn a decent living by refereeing would happily continue in the game.

No idea how most people see them but I like smartarse players who are driven by ego and as long as the
dedication on the field is there I don't give a f**k what they get up to off the field. The article on Sandor Earl
in the SMH is a reminder that every player has a story and he is a character that the game needs.

Ferguson, Gagai, Carney, Myles to name a few are larrikans, not to be confused with shitheads like Matai who
thrive on cheap shots, and easily have their talents dismissed. I enjoy watching Earl and Ferguson compete for
attention and if they make a concerted effort will be fatal to the opposition. The real dipshits are the people who
only praise these blokes depending on who they play for.

All this talk about Bellamy and articles on players that appear to not have given their best conjures up all sorts
of fanciful scenarios. Off the top of my head I reckon Blake Ayshford and Chris Lawrence would have become
awesome playing in purple. There are players like Albert Kelly who showed similar signs as Inglis who might not
have gone astray.

Reinforces the fact that a coach who knows his job is far more valuable than any player will ever be. Ironic that
players who are fortunate enough to be coached to their full potential have to hide their worth in secret contracts
to stay where they are whilst potentially just as talented players aren't allowed to seek out equal nurturing.

Since Melbourne brought the bullshit to a head players have a far better chance of getting paid what they're worth
and staying where they want but that's only half the battle. If so many players are languishing because of a need
for optimum coaching why doesn't the ARLC establish a coaching academy headed by men like Bennett and Bellamy.
