If it's true demand a f**kton in return, and don't just be nice about it. Teams like the Storm don't move guys they want just because those guys decide they want to live somewhere else.

Dolphins gonna struggle to meet that given they have no fkn players (unless they want to pay most of the Bromwich contracts to come play for us or something weird like that... Lodge being a player option/free agent presumably going to other way to join stepdaddy).

The reality is he won't be the only one.

When & if we eventually get to base ourselves here in NZ, the squad will be very very different than it is now.

shame if he leaves the Warriors - will be on the highlights reels for years to come and will actually deliver unlike the fullback at Newcastle.

I'm not so sure about that - defending is still part of the game.

Apparently the Dolphins have already been speaking to his management. Brisbane are reportedly off him because they remember he jumped ship at the first opportunity

Maybe the prices of a bag in Auckland are too high

Rugby league players are pretty soft when it comes to moving out of their comfort zone city/place. Bit sad really.

I'm trying to work out if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Part of me thinks the club shouldn't be recruiting players who don't want to move to NZ, the other part thinks it was probably a necessary evil while we are relocated and to replace players who didn't want to live in Australia.

Warriors have said something to the tune of "over my dead body" (about releasing him early) and Wayne has publically denied any talks with Walsh.

I think more likely it's bored journalists trying to drum up a story in the offseason. Walsh was always planning to move to NZ until covid hit.

We can only hope
Lol, “James Roberts will not be playing for South Sydney”, 2 weeks later he is in red and green

“Well I couldn’t tell you lot what was happening”
Moral of the story is simple: Never trust Wayne Bennett

Where there's smoke there's fire. All it needs now is Walsh to come out and deny it and then we will know for sure he is gone.

We all knew Walsh was going as soon as he could manage. I'd like us, as jase said, to dig our heels right in. We were prepared to give him first grade, to allow his star to shine to the point he was picked for Origin, so no chance we let him go for 2023 unless it's going to be made very much worth our while. And if he sooked it up (not suggesting he would, just saying) then he can go and play for the Vulcans. And they don't exist.

Agreed, he was never gonna be a long term Warrior. I just honestly didnt expect the chat to start after half a season, thats super early.

It was always going to start as soon as he showed talent that made him hot property on the market. If he signs with with us through to 2027, as long as he's playing good football, there's going to be ongoing whispers that he is off to another club imminently.

We don't want it to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
