Parra Captains Challenge for a strip on RCG (?). McLean I think it was clearly raked at the ball. So clear even boofhead Shouty Dan saw it. Bunker misses it though.

Last Penrith try really deserved a few reviews. Looked like it could have been an obstruction?

For the 2nd week running the bunker used the term “moderate force” when describing a collision . Do they have a force gauge now in the bunker? If anyone watched the last episode of The Bye Round”. , James Graham and Aaron Woods ripped the bunker and referees to shreds over their interpretations of the obstruction rule and head high tackles. They showed tries where the Tigers and Eels defences were obstructed by lead runners when conceding tries but since the affected defenders involved didn’t take a dive , the tries were awarded. Graham said that if he was coaching either team he would have to tell them to dive to get the penalty.

They also had a laugh at the Ponga “high tackle” penalty against Penrith (which was a great ball and all tackle , and asked whether the penalty would be given if the beneficiary wasn’t a ’

Penriff's second last try. The chaser, #4, was a metre or two offside and had an impact on the fullback knocking the ball on. Nothing from the bunker. They are useless. And it was so obvious.

I just hope that StGeorge and the Dogs don't get the type of rulings Penrith did last night as there could be trouble in the crowd!

There were heaps for both sides the officals had shockers

These refs are useless. It couldn't have been a more obvious penalty.

In less than 5 minutes, the refs gifted the Dolphins 8 points. A soft penalty and missed a blatant forward pass.

Eyesight deteriorates with age . Then why are touch judges so old ? Seems to be a tradition in rugby league .

But they were used for the one and only time this year. Have you ever seen a team penalised for a push in the back on a normal kick off? Or a penalty because a push on a kicker was unnecessary? And how many players put the leg out when catching a kick without getting penalised?
Imagine what would happen if these were applied on a consistent basis. There would be so many penalties and there would an uproar!

If you want a stone-clad case study of what I'm saying, watch a replay of the All Blacks v Argentina game on Sat night v what our game produces. OK, you probably would rather stick pins in your eyes...but that game, officiated by Angus Gardner, was a clear example of what I'm saying.

Union is a basket case, but Gardner - a smart guy, well-versed with the rules and a strong communication style - did an outstanding job. He actually over-ruled a TMO decision on a high tackle, just used his common sense. And any borderline call (which there always is) the players can accept, because his communication is spot on. That was the best officiated game I've seen in forever.

Contrast that with the shitstorm we have. I'll use the Warriors Dolphins game, given that's the only full game I watched this weekend. There were a bunch of shit decisions that the Ray Charles' in yellow got wrong, and not only that, they run around like bumbling fools and you've never got any confidence they'll get anything right. RTS gets penalised and the Phins kick two points (game went to GP, remember) for the most ridiculous 'high shot' decision you'll see. Walker gets 10 in the bin because Nicholls folds and drops his body at the last minute. A clear forward pass in the lead-up to Nikorima's try. This happens every game.

That's because when one of our refs f**ks up, rather than trying to fix the issues, we get Annesley come out on a monday morning and claims that what everybody saw didn't actually happen, and the ref was completely right. Why would any ref ever bother to seek to improve when there is never any repercussions for blatantly cheating teams out of games.
