Easy to be so magnanimous coming off 7 series wins rather than 7 series defeats. I'm too wound up right now to be anything other than an arsehole I'm afraid. Can't believe I had to sit through that limp-dicked shit from my team again.
Yeah can imagine your frustration.

The rub of the green in the opening 20 minutes from the refs gave Qld a big leg-up. Within their 20 metre line consistently, is where Qld are most threatening (you can find posts before this evening where I said as such).

Merritt running in off his wing and defending like shit contributed to 3 of Qld's tries. All in all a weird game, and proof that these new send-off rules are rubbish.

go f**k yourselves, i wasnt the only one to see it

THE pre-match talk was that there would be a square-up on Paul Gallen but no one expected it to come from the referees.
As hot as Queensland started last night the Blues were murdered in the opening 20 minutes with several dubious calls going to Queensland.
James Maloney got a hand on the ball in the first minute and the refs ruled Sam Thaiday was stripped. It piggy-backed Queensland downfield, Thaiday scored the next set.
Then the same thing happened to Ryan Hoffman in the seventh minute, but Cameron Smith got off scot-free. Soon after Queensland got another penalty and Johnathan Thurston kicked the goal to take an 8-0 lead. When Darius Boyd crossed for the second try in the 17th minute the possession split was 83-17 per cent in Queensland's favour.
The scoreboard read 14-0 and by that stage the penalty count was 4-0 to Queensland.
ORIGIN II: Match Report
Understandably, the Blues were blowing up. Consistency is all any coach or player can ask for but last night the so-called 50/50 calls early, when it mattered, all went to the home team.
We got our first penalty in the 23rd minute. Incidentally, that was when Gallen took his first break. Get this, the skipper had made just 21m from two runs which was the most by any NSW forward.

The first penalty against Maloney was the correct call and it got our momentum going. I missed the second one.

These two refs have f**ked up 2 Origins in a row - drop the merkins.

The first 15 minutes were an absolute stitch up, anyone not conceding that is lying through their teeth or simply dumb.

That being said QLD clearly the better side and deserved winners, unlucky to have have another 3-4 tries tbh. Merritt, Pearce and the forwards were hopeless

that stitch up in the first twenty minutes destroyed the game for the blues. easy to be the better side at that level with those possession rates and when your opponents have made close to 100 extra tackles before half time

QLD got favourable calls at the start of the game. NSW got better ones at the end.

QLD were the far better side last night.

Hope game 3 the refereeing is balanced both ways throughout the whole game

What do you expect when origin is rigged ! or are we just sooo lucky that we get a third game decider that whoever (NRL, channel nein, etc) can sell the shite out of for maximum profit ????
Qld were shit in game one and NSW had the refs + Nsw were shit last night and QLD had the refs = game 3 bonanza

Lol geeez that's the best you got?
Better a 'redneck' than a complete and utter sooky lala.

well it's a bit hard to counter an argument when it's based on nothing.

so yeah, in this instance it's the best i've got.

have a crack at explaining how that first twenty minutes didnt totally f**k the game over for NSW and how it wasn't a stitch up of epic proportions.

the same way players have their papers stamped never to play origin again, these two imbeciles (and whoever was the video ref last night) need to have theirs stamped never to ref origin again

due to their incredible ineptitude they failed to send gallen to the sin bin in origin 1 which resulted in a backlash from all the mummies and wankers out there who decried "think of the children" which led to david smith bringing in the moronic "any punch goes to the sinbin" rule.

they then presided over the farcical binning of 4 people in origin 2 (with the help of whoever was in the box) to reduce our showpiece game to a game of soccer for 10 mins. On the rule smith brought in Merrin should have been sent to the bin, there's an argument hodges should have gone, but how the f**k these idiots came up with Bird who was trying to stop it escalating, and Tate who was the punchee is beyond belief.

so now because of the idiocy of the officials in charge our showpiece game has descended into refereeing decisions as opposed to the fact that both winning teams were excellent in their performances.

well done hayne and klein, even harrigan couldnt take the attention away from the footy like you two spastics

sorry mate, but that is too simplistic in its analysis

a couple of square ups at the end when the damage is done to make the records look better?

that first twenty minutes completely f**ked us over, the one sided penalties, the lack of equitable calls for the same offence all leading to NSW having to make close to 100 extra tackles well before half time.

i can't even begin to fathom how you can argue that the outcome wasn't heavily influenced by that

Absolutely.

Was the second one the penalty against Jennings for the challenge on Thurston (from memory). If so, that was an incredibly soft penalty.

Klein is one of the worst refs in the comp. No idea why he is reffing Origin. In saying that, I think the scoreline was about right.

I never said it didn't. But it isn't hard to argue that QLD were the far superior side. NSW had our chances but didn't capitalise. We had better calls towards the end of the game and did nothing with them.
