Trent Robinson picked the team I listed above except for Moga.
Casty would have been playing earlier but has been injured. He is now being thrown in against the biggest pack in the world. It will be a tough task to prevail against them. But this is his chance to cement a place on the bench for the rest of the season.
Are we paying this guy simply to tackle? 7 runs for 35 metres is woeful and even by FPN's regular standards is bad. This is against arguably the best pack in the comp as well so is he only going to be effective against dud teams like St George? French Martin Kennedy?
Thankfully Willis Meehan killed it on debut for Newtown today so Casty will only be a very short term solution until Evans and Liu are more experienced and Meehan can come in.
Fortunately for Sydney Roosters Trent Robinson is the coach and team selector. He is an experienced and wise judge of talent and knows well Remi Casty's talents and capabilities.
Pimply faced teenagers are good at making noise on internet forums, but the important decisions of recruiting and selecting players is made by wiser, mature men.
His hit ups need plenty of work, just seems to have too small a body shape for a reserve prop. I will give him some credit for making 28 tackles, our 3rd highest in the game, without missing one. Overall stats pale in comparison to sammy Moa, 132 metres from 13 hit ups, 31 tackles none missed. Beast effort again!
Yeah Trent Robinson never makes a mistake. It's not like he would select SBW at 5/8 and leave Daniel Mortimer on the bench for an hour while taking an absolute fisting.
So basically Casty is only in the team to tackle? His defence is fine, his ability to make metres is non-existant and this been a huge problem for the team all season. If JWH plays bad then we have nothing.
I remember when people used to criticise having Nate Myles in the team "only tackling" racking up 40 odd tackles a game but still getting through nearly 100m. I wish we still had The Wall.
He just made he debut against arguably the best pack on the comp and played OK.
Unbelievable some expect players to produce immediately. It's like Napa and Evans, I can't believe some fans expect these two to play like props much older than they. It's stupid.
