Reminders of your childhood

Sandy, Pigsy, Tripitaka....

Pigsy was gold.

Years before it was the magic roundabout, crusader rabbit and co.

Later, Countdown on Sunday and Molly would flog Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons latest to us and “i got you” was the top song for 3 years.

And the old man would have the Goon Show blaring on the wireless on Saturday’s.

On the weekends after 10am, tv was banned until after dinner. No exceptions. Get outside!! Woe betide you if you “ didn’t help your mother” around the house.

My kids won’t even get up on weekends. Straight to the phone. At least they're not on ice or meth.

Wow! I didn't know she died so young. That's a real shame.

I think some of my friends turned for tripihaha, thinking she was the male priest...and have been batting on since!

Very sad death, rip.

Back in the day, there was a glimpse of parenting.

Playing with any kind of ball in the house was a serious offence @Jim Rockford and I was often charged and sentenced for it. Usually because the evidence was a smashed window and blaming the cat didn’t cut it.

A two week grounding, no swimming at the local pool, not even even proper swimming lessons. Segregation from little neighbourhood buddies.

No avenue of appeal my friend.

These days the kids and I play kitchen soccer when the enemy is out.

Yeah, that was one of the first useless applications of artificial intelligence. its been downhill ever since.

A bit like “ make this your favourite withdrawal?” everytime you went to the ATM.

Banks are busy taking their atms out of shopping centres at the moment, because it costs them money to provide the service.

That’s been a constant throughout history folks. Greedy Banks.

You really left it there in the 80's and expected it to be there when you came back?
It was chained up but they must have had bolt-cutters. I had done the same thing numerous times before with no issue but I guess I was tempting fate. Got the insurance money for it and bought a sweet Diamond Back to replace it.

For a moment I thought you meant bolt cutting- “ numerous times” lol

Back in the day I saw 2 bicycle thieves get caught. One wasn’t pretty because he was set upon and had to be rescued by one the folk re-arranging his face from the rest of them.

Old school BMX. Tuffs, Gooseneck & crossbar pads, frame pad, and pedals that would drag skin of your shins with every slip of your foot.
If you had a Mongoose, you were the shit.

I was not the shit.

My Dad brought home the daggiest f**ken dragsters you could imagine for me and my younger brother. I can only imagine Saint Vinnies were giving them away. I think I just turned heel and walked away.

I had the dragster conversion. Put on a single seat, bmx goose neck and handlebars, these forks . Still weighed a tonne and still had dragster cranks and gearing. These things never really did the job.
