Retro Games

' I find the entertainment value awesome.
But I do find with current games, the time required to devote to them when there are so many other things in life to be a bit overwhelming. So much to do in modern games, it is difficult to find time to really get stuck in, in a decent way.

Reading an interview the other day from Maxis regarding the new Sim City. Said they lost many people with the games after Sim City 2000 for the reasons you speak of. They were better in almost every aspect but a tad overwhelming for some.

Probably why i enjoyed The Walking Dead game so much. Puzzles an 8 year old could solve and just picking a few responses. Its fun not having to master a ridiculous amount of button combos. Yup I have old coot gaming syndrome.

I love the original Dead or Alive on PS1. Also Tenchu: Stealth Assassins and I couldn't get enough of the original GTA... oh and Urban Chaos.

Star Wars Jedi Power Battles on PS1. Good fun in co-op too.

Ahh the good ol days when you used to go to a mates house and play games for an entire Saturday.

Love my old games consoles and have them all boxed away in the spare room

The megaman series on the NES in particular is a favourite

Many a night spent with mates playing Goldeneye on the N64

I could name heaps more!

Jonah Lomu Rugby...the best.

The first Ridge Race on PS 1...kick ass.

Amen brother!

I think like many people, the PS1 reignited my love of games after getting a tad bored with them. Loved my Megadrive, but after a few years was keen for some new.
The PS1 probably got more gaming time from me than anything else I think! The original Tomb Raiders 1&2, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Destruction Derby, Doom 1/2 Compilation...and the Namco Museums with Namco arcade stick! The PS1 was responsible for a few sick days back then...

I'm sure many people do the same thing these days when they pre-order games.

If you right click the executable and go to properties there is an option to run in compatibility mode which should let it work.

I think I got this free with a Weet Bix pack. This was very entertaining though. You could basically stand halfway down the pitch and slog every full toss for a six. You could also appeal for everything like mad Pakistanis. The bouncers were really lethal as well. Great fun.

Was that the full version?

Also another flaw in that game was if you played a test match you couldn't enforce the Follow On

I remember that game - back in 1997 it was. This bloke brought the CD into school once and installed it on all the computers in the computer rooms

For some reason that game reminded me of Pickle Wars. Anyone remember that?
