Hate playing shooters on iPads because the movement controls are so unintuitive, but I'll give this a crack. Marathon 2 (in particular) consumed a whole lot of my teen years.

Free on PC as well! Goodbye free time :-D

I've been wasting my free-time back on my Nintendo 64. Have a new found love for Goldeneye and Banjo Kazooie.

From a Retro vs Modern/current gaming...I'm probably speaking from an old fart point of view...does anyone else find current games a little overwhelming? They're good- very, very good...I don't go into this arguement that current games 'aren't as good as they used to be.' I find the entertainment value awesome.
But I do find with current games, the time required to devote to them when there are so many other things in life to be a bit overwhelming. So much to do in modern games, it is difficult to find time to really get stuck in, in a decent way. Retro games are awesome for that, why I feel retro flavoured games on mobiles nowadays are so popular. I find you can boot up your retro games, put in a half hour blast then go onto other stuff.
Thoughts?

It's not a true management mode. Saying that is like saying WWE games have a booker mode

FIFA 13 on the Wii U sort of has a weird management role with the gamepad, makes it one hell of a lot easier to manage during the game (subs, formation, marking, tactics etc.)

The gaming industry have remade alot of classics in this current day eg. Altered Beast, Golden Axe etc on PS2. One game I never understood why it wasn't remade was Streets of Rage. That game was magnificent back then.

I agree, but I think it has a lot to do with the depth of gaming nowadays compared to classic/retro/indi games.

Completely agree. Which is why I tend to stick to the retro games that I played as a kid. Plenty of recreations on the internet.

SEGA Blocks Streets of Rage Fan Project

Developer Bomber Games had to remove download links.
by Jim Reilly
April 13, 2011

SEGA has shut down the Streets of Rage Remake fan project that had been in development for nearly eight years. The team behind the project, Bomber Games, finally released a free version last week for PC. SEGA's legal team quickly mobilized, however, and had the team remove the download links from their website. Fans are also requested not to upload the game elsewhere.

"SEGA is committed to supporting any fans that take an interest in our games, and where possible we do so by involving them in Beta tests and other development, marketing or research opportunities," a SEGA representative said in a statement.

"However we need to protect our intellectual property rights and this may result in us requesting that our fans remove online imagery, videos or games in some instances."

A number of gameplay videos still remain on YouTube if you want to catch a glimpse.

Anybody playing (or played) 10,000 on Steam or IOS? Just got it and not sure how I feel about it.
