WCW/nWo World Tour & Revenge Iafeta?

Both games were/are great. The entire AKI wrestling series remains one of the best when it comes to wrestling. Actually made for good games rather than solid simulations.

Think thats the one mate. It had Hollywood Hogan and the Giant on the cover from memory. Nitro and Thunder were also fairly fun games too.

Speaking of old skool, did anyone ever play Takedown Wrestling?

Nicely done BF. Just bought Alex Kidd Lost Stars, the last levels a bit of pain, but go the memories!
A few I have to look at getting too.

Thanks mate. Ironically, it's shame about the video gameplay temporarily freezing for about 1-2 seconds just as Alex Kidd The Lost Stars segment starts. I'll have to look at perfecting that minor error :(

My goodness, do you guys know how many man hours it takes putting together a compilation video? The amount of things you have to do is unreal. Anyway as promised, here it is... (thoughts appreciated) :)

Just going back to this post of mine from last week guys... please note the main difference between this compilation and my other compilation of the same name, is that this video has corrected some minor errors the other video had. Also, 'Streets of Rage' gameplay has also been added to this one. This video is also available in 1080 Full HD, whereas the original video is only available in 480 HQ.

While not quite "retro". Some of my all time favourite games for the PC are/where:

- Dark Forces
- Rise of the Triads
- Duke Nukem 3D/Winter/Carribean
- Wolfenstein 3D
- Blake Stone
- Doom I / II

Absolutely adore Doom, the original Doom 1/2 PS1 compilation would be close to all time faves for me.

What sort of horror games have grabbed you especially (excuse the pun)? I have a particular fondness for the Silent Hill games, probably due in no small way to Akiras fantastic sound and music.

Mate, many of those will be classed Retro nowadays.

Heres a good debate point: How do you define retro? There are so many arguements/definitions of 'retro' games. Some define it as what was you childhood games, some a certain age of game...

My definition personally is two gens, so when games advance the generation the previous one is not retro IMO, but the one before that is. Using Sony for an example, PS3= Current PS1=Retro PS2=The inbetween gen.:)

It's a confusing point, that's for sure. I'm inclined to say that Retro is everything up until 16 bit. However, the reason I say that, is purely because of another word - Classical. Classical games are the reason why I think retro freezes at 16 bit (SNES/Mega Drive). Everything from then on can be deemed classical. Many people nowadays would rate GTA 4, which was a one stage the greatest game of all time, a classical game, but not so much retro.

The amount of games that come out and the speed at which they're coming out at, along with the stiff competition among next gen consoles makes games become classics within months of their release!

I define retro the moment that console stops being produced. As for PC games, I would think a similar style applies that you could pretty much just flag 10 years or so as the cutoff point.

Silent Hill 2 is my favourite of all time, more recently I loved Penumbra/Amnesia which were by far the scariest games I've played IMO.

In terms of older games I graduated from Doom and Doom II to games like System Shock 2 and I even considered Half-Life pretty frightening at the time.

Horror games aren't something I'm too interested in, but I guess Resident Evil II on the Sony Playstation comes to mind.

I really liked the original Quake game on the PC. Quake II was pretty good as well. The

Silent Hill 2 is probably the only game to make me jump consistently.

Dead Island had moments when those fast ones would come charging at you screaming their heads off.

Dead Island made me jump not because it was scary on it's own but I'd be walking and the next thing an infected would be biting my head off. Must admit it's an unreal game when you look behind a few bugs (XBox version is bugged atm...where's my patch).

I am looking forward to Riptide though. I actually really enjoyed Dead Island.

Quake was unreal. Still, To me nothing comes even close to the epicness of Duke Nukem 3D. That game was my fondest memory of retro gaming.
