Revenue for NRL Clubs (2018-2021)

The Australian Capital Territory is separate from the state of NSW. It's a separate jurisdiction just like the Northern Territory with its own laws and government.

Using your argument players from the NTRL cannot play Origin if they didn't qualify for Queensland, so what's your point?

There are historical links between the QRL and NTRL. In the 90s the NTRL competed in the QRL statewide competition.
I didn’t know that, cheers.

They should have built a smaller one if they cannot make the loan repayments

Who said anything about not being able to repay the loan?

You just made that up to divert attention away from the fact Parramatta have been propped up by three levels of government whereas the Cowboys have to foot 50% of the cost on their own. Eels are only paying 6.9% of the bill while 93.1% of the cost will be funded by three tiers of government.

How can anyone say with a straight face that Sydney clubs are viable when they need to be propped up to such a high degree to compete with Queensland clubs?

The Eels' representative admitted the football club was a basket case a few years ago.

“We’ve gone from a significant loss-making enterprise back five or six years ago to a club that has generated profits in excess of $1 million in each of the past three years,” Eels chief executive Jim Sarantinos said.

The saddest thing is the people who turn a blind eye to the special treatment given to the Sydney clubs would oppose a team from Adelaide and Perth getting a leg up until they're viable, just like they did when News Ltd funded the Storm during their formulative years.

Do you have any evidence to support your statement or did you pluck it out of your arse?

The Redcliffe Dolphins were able to build a 10k seat stadium for just $24M, with an option to add a southern grandstand to boost capacity to 13k in the future.

Today’s unveiling of the third and final stage of Dolphin Stadium completed $24 million stadium means the try line in sight for Moreton Bay Region to secure the NRL’s seventeenth licence. The Northern Stand cost $6.5M and accommodates 3k people. If the same were built at the Leagues Club end then the total cost of all for grandstands would be just over $30M.

There isn't any 10k stadium anywhere in Australia built, from scratch, for this figure. With your one cherry picked example, can you find any recent 15k stadia built for less then $50M+?

Dolphin Stadium has been progressively upgraded since the 70s and this was just the latest phase.

Let's be honest though, it's still a shit heap.

The NT has fielded teams in underage representative tournaments administered by the QRL. At least they did 25 years ago. I'm not sure if they still do.
ACT teams play in a comp administered by the NSWRL(formerly CRL) that's why they are eligible.

This has been a historical precedent far longer then NT and QLD had or have.

A similar situation happened on the QLD/NSW border whereby Billy Moore was born and played some of his senior footy for Tenterfield (NSW) which played in the QRL.

It is a shit heap unfit for NRL games. The reason people are casting doubt on the Dolphins' ability to be a true alternative to the Broncos is because they're playing games out of this shithole on the northern outskirts of metropolitan Brisbane.

You are the one touting it as an example of what the NRL should be aiming for in the NT though?

You're comparing apples with oranges.

1. NT doesn't have an NRL team and cannot afford a massive stadium with its small population. A boutique stadium with a capacity of 13k is more than enough for Darwin.

2. Dolphins are an NRL team based in a metropolitan area of 2,600,000 people with the world's best rugby league stadium. They should be playing out of a stadium with a minimum capacity of 25k. Most people won't choose Dolphin Oval when they've become accustomed to the luxurious Lang Park.

Nah man.... potata
You can’t go wrong with comforting potatoes, but Spanish patatas bravas takes fried potatoes to the next level, thanks to spicy red bravas sauce. I’ve got all the tips for these crispy-on-the-outside, fluffy-on-the-inside Spanish potatoes.

patatas bravas in a bowl with salsa brava drizzled on top.

Few foods are more comforting — or more versatile — than the humble potato.

Patatas bravas, spicy Spanish potatoes, are no exception. Chunks of potato are fried in extra virgin olive oil until perfectly crisp on the outside, and tender on the inside. The potatoes are then drizzled or drenched (your call) in a vibrant, perfectly smoky bravas sauce. It’s the perfect sharing snack to enjoy with friends and family, perhaps with a jug of sangria or a lemony cocktail.

Whether you’re baking potato wedges, whipping them with garlic, or frying them like in today’s recipe, potatoes are so easy to turn into whatever you need them to be. A main, a side, a snack, or a tapa — the potato can do it all!

Why would the NT bother then? Just keep what they have now.

Nor would darwins, they’ve already got a 10k rectangular venue with a 1200 seat stand and some corporate facilities. We are talking an upgrade not a new stadium.
