I think the main point of these two photos is to show the Broncos markers are clearly not standing square, even less so than Rochow. Penalty Tigers.

But the ball has cleared the ruck in the picture, so going off it you can not say for certain that the broncos player was off the mark.

Everything was the wrong. The penalty should never have been given, and even when the clown did blow the penalty he gave the wrong mark. The play the ball was about 22 metres out from the line and he gave the mark on the 30. Back to OPSM for these losers

Sht decsion that was the final nail in a sht game. I li,e they’re trying to open the game up by enforcing the rules but geez it’s making the games bludgers in the short term.

From what I remember, the not standing square thing was a deliberate defensive tactic first implemented by the Des Hasler coached Bulldogs. This started a problematic trend across the NRL from 2014 onward. Glad the refs are stamping this out.
Pity they didn't stop the Broncos from doing it during regular time last night.

We need a field goal shoot out with 4 defenders from the other team sat on each other's shoulders as goalkeepers. Excitement, Innovation, the best show in town! Tell your friends then make more friends and tell them as well.

Never forget, golden point is the result of NSWhinge.

I hope it is removed just so Queensland can retain the shield in a drawn series again.

if they are serious about cleaning up the play-the-ball they need to start penalising players for stepping off the mark, which for me is a bigger issue

most of the time the markers start off square but end up standing next to the player playing the ball
Agree x 1000.

Most the time, non square markers are due to players getting up and moving side ways and forwards a metre.
It's a merkin of a thing to do.
