New Zealand Fencibles Cap off their Tour With an Emphatic Win
June 3RD, 2011 By Daniel Andruczyk (will also be in Rugby League Review)
The inaugural USA Rugby League tournaments kicked off on the 28th of May.
The USARL 9s was held at the Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken in North Philadelphia, home of the Philadelphia Fight team, who were also the hosts. On what was a scorching day 12 teams from around the country came out to play this included 2 from the Fight itself. The Orange County Outlaws and Utah Avalanche, who are two of the newest teams in the USA and fall under the development league of the USARL now also sent out teams, however due to flight delays not everyone made it and their teams had to be supplemented by extra players from some of the other teams.
After the USA Rugby League 9s I was able to catch up with Ryan McGough who was the organiser of the USARL 9s as well as Peter Illfield who is the Inaugural Chairman of the USA Rugby League. I asked about their impressions of the days events as well a bit more information on what the USA Rugby League is. I also had a shat to Mikhael Shammas about the NAMOA concept.

While in North America covering the USA games for Rugby League Review, I was able to travel to Toronto Canada and catch up with Jamie Lester, technical Director for the CRL. It was an interesting insight into the way things were run in Canada, from its surprise beginning to where it’s heading in the future.
Rugby League International Scores and Hurricanes Partnership
June 4th, 2011 By Daniel Andruczyk
With the recent announcement from the Hurricanes Rugby league in Jamaica that they are setting up and academy and are looking for people and organisations to commit and help out the Academy, I am proud to announce that Rugby League International Scores will be coming on board as a bronze partner to the Hurricanes.
The much anticipated opening to the AMNRL season got under way today. Rugby League International Scores was able to get to the two matches played. In a day of physical and brutal matches where one player was taken to hospital, the upset of the season so far was sprung.

Europe Continues to Spread the Gospel and Rumour Mill
June 13th, 2011 By Daniel Andruczyk
Europe, its probably safe to say is the spear head of the global expansion of the game of Rugby League around the world. Now I don’t mean that the RLEF it self is necessarily the one going out and setting countries up, that is done by individuals, but it has the structure and plan to give guidance and support to counties in any which way it can. It also now has some semblance of an structure that allows Internationals to be played in some sort of structured manner and allows new teams to come in at a new level and test themselves. And its does not just limit itself to continental Europe. We have seen over the last year that countries like Canada and Jamaica have joined the RLEF for lack of a local federation and also the South Africans have been traveling there to prepare for the World Cup. Just take a look at the news that has come out the last couple of days.
