Canada vs. Jamaica – The Interviews, Part 1 Canada

Last weekends International between Canada and Jamaica saw the Wolverines create history and win their first ever international. After the match I was able to catch up with some of the players and support staff of the two team. First up, Canada, where I talked with Eric Perez, Corey Tukeli and Louis Robinson. Tomahawks, The Breakdown

Todays release of the Tomahawks squad provides some interesting food for thought and I would say a very controversial selections. David Niu and the AMNRL selection committee have done a full sweep out of the Tomahawks team that saw them lose heavily to Ireland in March. Only 8 players survive from that team. Poland’s First Rugby League Club Officially Established

Yesterday Poland’s First Rugby League Club was finally officially registered by the Mayor and Council in Łódż. The club is officially known as Łódzki Klub Rugby XIII or in English Lodz Rugby League Football Club.

It’s Hard to Keep a Game of Rugby League Down

Despite a massive Hurricane (Hurricane Irene) hitting the East coast of the USA and Philadelphia getting a big brunt of it, it was not enough to cancel two of the penultimate events on the Rugby League Calendar in the United States. The Colonial Cup Between the USA Tomahawks and Canada Wolverines was brought forward a couple hours and the USARL Grand Final was brought forward by an hour. It shows that not even a hurricane can keep a good game of Rugby League down.

CARLO NAPOLITANO ANNOUNCES THE ITALIAN SQUAD FOR THE WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION

Carlo Napolitano, Head Coach of the Italian National Rugby League side, (Monday 29th August 2011) announced the squad that will participate in the qualification for the World Cup from the 15th October till 29th October 2011. Coach Napolitano, together with his staff has named the following 50 players for the qualifications.

Good work all round.

Quick question. It's always seemed strange to me that eastern Europe's biggest 'rugby' playing nation, Romania, has thus far not seen any Rugby League activity, do you know of any interest in that country?

Ukraine in Serbia for the Slavic Cup and South Africa Prepare for WC

The Ukranian’s are on a two game tour of Serbia where they will play the next leg of the Slavic Cup. The South Africans are preparing for their World Cup Qualifiers with a warm up match against the Canadians. Also some news from the USARL AGM with more youth development.
