News From Around the World - Good and Bad

October 8th, 2011
By Various

This week there has been lots of. I know there has been a hiatus of several of days from, but Its proposal writing season and so have been busy with my physics stuff. However I now have a bit of time to catch up on the weeks news. Also this weekend I will be travelling to Toronto for the Canada v South Africa International. The last time I saw the South Africans play was in 2008 in England when they toured on a 3 game tour of the north. It will be interesting to see how they fair this time around. Most people are writing them off but there seems to be some local home support that they can win through the World Cup Qualifiers. Though the Rhinos have no NRL or ESL stars to call upon, they do have a large domestic competition to draw players from and in the last few years have had BARLA, GB Defence Forces and Australian University teams go over to play them, so they do have some experience. Interesting times ahead. But now lets see what’s been happening. Also I have had a few people email me about the whole international eligibility that been happening. I will comment on this soon.

Wayne Allen’s Scores a Double for Jamaica in WCQ

October 20th, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk, at Campbell’s Field, Camden New Jersey, USA, 19/10/11

Today saw some dour condition in Camden, New Jersey, for the second of the Atlantic Zone Qualifiers. A Jamaican team, bristling with overseas stars, had to overcome some atrocious conditions in Camden New Jersey to beat the South African Rhinos in their opening match of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup Qualifiers. The Rain meant that the speed advantage that Jamaica would have had would be largely negated and thus would have to slug it out with the Rhinos who have shown in their last two outings that they certainly can match it physically.

October 20th, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

I was able to have a quick chat with some of the coaching staff from South Africa and Jamaica and get a bit of an insight on what they were taking away from the tournaments. As it turns out as well, out fellow International Rugby league journalist, Steve Mascord, was also on hand to watch the game, though he was jetting off for one crazy Rugby League tour, to Avignon for the France v England game and then onto Serbia for the last round of World Cup Qualifiers. So on with the interviews.

By Daniel Andruczyk

The 4 Nations, is in its 1/2 way phase and controversy reigns. While the Welsh have shown their improvement from their match last week. A New Year and New Hope

January 18th, 2012
By Daniel Andruczyk

Happy New Year to everyone! Yes I am back. Sorry for the long break, but several things came up all at once that needed my attention… like my job and my father visiting for a month where we embarked on a road trip across the Eastern United States managing to visit 21 states and one district in 4 weeks. It also gave me a chance to have a bit of a break, it has been a long year with much going on and had taken its toll which I needed to recharge. I think this has been sufficiently managed and so over the next week or two I will endeavour to get things back on track with Rugby League International Scores. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone, but I am sure that you all are aware of some of the other great websites that are now up and running that are keeping news of what’s going on updated to the world.
