Now that I have your attention… some encouraging news this week from the Western AMNRL that is being slowly but surely setting up in the USA. It relates more specifically to the Denver (Colorado) Wolverines and the info from Jeff Eberle. It gives a unique insight to the trials and tribulations of setting up a new team let alone sport in an area.

Another Year of International Rugby League is Complete

December 23rd
By Daniel Andruczyk

So we are at the end of 2010 and all the International Matches for the year are also complete. Over the last week there were only two Schoolboy matches to be done in France, which saw the Aussies end their tour on a high. France, with the Elite 1 has gone into recession with only 1 match to be caught up and that was done on Sunday. So a quick review of where things have gone internationally this year and a new rumour mill. But first some follow up from the last article.

Rugby League International Scores 2010 World Rankings

December 24th, 2010
By Daniel Andruczyk

With the International Season Officially over for the year its time to get the world ranking out again. Once again The RLIF does not seem to have any official rankings out so Rugby league International Scores has got its ranking out again as a guide. Last years ranking stirred a lot of controversy and debate as many of the “Top Teams” were listed very low. This year some teams have gone up and down but certainly a few surprises in there again.

The American Road Trip and Southern Expansion

January 1st, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

Happy New Year! I hope that all my readers have had a great and safe New Year Celebrations and didn’t over do it and all got home safely. Well, my Christmas and New Year break has been quite eventful. I did a road trip down to Florida from Illinois, one of a couple thousand miles. I have seen some pretty amazing things here, one that makes you realise the potential of this country in anything it does. The most outstanding thing I have seen is Cape Canaveral and NASA, that just re-enforces the awesome power of this country. However as always with me, with nealry all my trips there is no lack of Rugby League and I certainly did have a Rugby League experience here.

USA Rugby League

January 14th, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

So as the saying goes, “Famous last words”. Thus I said these on Monday when wrote that “rumours of a split in the AMNRL have died down”. Well Rugby League in the USA has now officially fractured into two groups. Now this article I will be treading carefully. I will not be giving any opinions either way for two reasons. First that the info here is only from one side , the USARL and I am still waiting to hear from the AMNRL their version of events. Secondly I want to stay impartial and be able to report on both sides as I do with Italy and any other split. Once I have all the info I will then write an opinion piece breaking things down.

European Results and Updates

January 19th, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

This week the first of the years international tournaments kicked off. Even though it may be a low key affair by most standards the Malta 9s didn’t escape the eyes and ears of RLIS. They were played over the weekend at the Victor Tadesco Stadium in Hamrun Malta. The French and Lebanese seasons started up again after their mid season breaks. Also a correction from the New York Northern Raiders about something i said last week.

USA Prepare for 2011

January 24th, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

OK so the World Cup article is almost complete, just getting it OK by people I have quotes, so that will be up soon. But you know how the Rugby League authorities like to drag their feet sometimes. Anyway still no official world from David Niu or the AMNRL about anything to do with the split and I know its frustrating a lot of fans and people and its starting to looking bad. However the AMNRL is pushing along with their 2011 preparations.

Rugby League World Cup 2013 Accelerator Program

January 29th, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

A while back I was reading over some news from last year on the Lebanese website and was reading about the MENA championships last October I noticed something interesting in the last line of the third paragraph. There was a mention of a World Cup Accelerator Program “We welcome Latham Tawhai, to the Cedars ranks and look forward to his influence on our boys and his assistance in pushing them onto the next level, of our World Cup accelerator program”. This of course aroused my curiosity. What is this program, it has not been advertised or talked about anywhere in the news wires so I started to ask some question with the qualifying countries and administrators that run the program.

Maybe, I think the RLEF are doing only what they can legally at the moment. If the IRLF show that they can run the better organisation this year then I don't see why the RLEF cant go and sanction them rather than the FIRL.

International 9s 2011 Draw – Cabramatta, Sydney, Australia

February 1st, 2011
By Daniel Andruczyk

Its that time of year once more. The first of the years 9s tournaments is upon us. The International 9s. I know that many back in Australia have been “complaining” that there is no Rugby League on, that they can’t wait for the season etc… well lets see your true colours and head out to Cabramatta on Saturday the 5th of February and support the sport. I went last year and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Got to meet several NRL stars as well who came out to watch the action. Its a great opportunity to mingle with some of the future stars of the sport as well. This year there are 18 teams involved, clubs as well as National teams. The Japanese are coming out again and also Tonga have sent a team over. Niue, The Cook Islands and Fiji are fielding teams as well as an Aboriginal side.
