I’m sure Melbourne appreciated being shown live in the BBC, on German free to air TV, in France and elsewhere.
I just read an article about the match in a major New York publication. Once again Melbourne is mentioned. This is repeated in publications all around the world.
Just some insight from someone actually at the game...
The build up was absolutely awesome, with most merchandise sold out and lots of activities outside the stadium (dancing and singing from other nations).
Inside the poms were nice and loud. I was on the western side and it looked amazing.
Yes it should have sold out... BUT:
With the average ticket price $100 they made $2million from ticket sales and probs half a million in merchandise.
Sounds like it looked good on tv too!
There’s nothing to doubt. The Victorian government and the city of Melbourne will be extremely happy the city’s name is out there and connected to the match.Yeah i am doubting that. This is melbourne, not Hobart, people know it exists.
Either way, that isn't really my point.
Flyers on telegraph poles between Moorebank and Milperra for Lebanon vs England And France. Didn’t see any for th Oz game but they maybe hoping the media will cover that enough anyway.
Funny that I didn’t notice them yesterday and France is on Sunday.
Looks pretty f**king full to me lolLol sellout my ass.
Lol sellout my ass.
If they share the attitude of the country next door, Indonesia, they’ll be turning up late and/or the stadium entry process will be limited and slow.Lol sellout my ass.
Actually great atmosphereSo a sell out in this RLWC = 90% full?
