If you’re going to make claims...
After round 9 they scored:
More than 50 once in a game they conceded 24 and it was in round 19
40-50 once in the final regular season game
30-40 four times
20-30 six times - the highest was 26, 2 were finals matches, another was a loss and 2 were wins by a converted try or less
10-20 points five times - 4 wins and a loss and the only win which was by more than 4 points was their prelim vs Souths
Less than 10 twice both losses
It’s hardly a record which indicates “exploding all facets”. Really the only facet they exploded in was the GF wins facet
I think @TheRam might have exploded a few facets when crafting another Rooster love-fest post.

Sure, they are a great team and something to aspire to but lets at least deal in facts. They have weaknesses and they are fallible.

That Storm side still looks pretty strong. Shouldn’t sell them short. A loss wouldn’t surprise. I’m hoping we get a win and show some improvement in form compared to the last few weeks.

Their defence will still be as strong as ever but their attack should suffer. All it does for us imo is make the game close and they probably won't blow us out by the 50 they would have.

I think Storm will win 20-6, with us maybe sticking with them for a while but just getting steamrolled at the end.

We are usually mentally beaten by the Storm before we even play them, what is worse this time is that they are depleted and we will take them lightly, just like we assumed the Dragons would be easy beats last week.

There's a real good chance will take them lightly. I also suspect Paulo won't play, so hopefully they take us lightly.

I reckon we win 34 - 0.
If we lost tonight I would suggest BA was out coached by a huge margin.

A loss tonight does not reflect upon the coach. It will be real evidence that the players lack the heart and tenacity to be a contender.
No excuses. If we loose, everyone should be sacked and move the club to Hobart

Yeah can’t be the coaches fault, it’s the pew hearted squad that he assembled!!!
I’ve got no problem blaming BA but it’s the rampant scapegoating before a ball is even thrown to a player standing still. Do people blame Brian Smith for Paul Carige? If collectively as a team we play shit, yeah f**k BA. But people having a guess, then when the predicted result happens but for wildly different reason, yet still claiming they were right... that’s how we end up with 30 odd years of mediocrity.
Thankfully the chances merkins like that having any actual impact on the club is now near zero.

Well you seemed to be worried about our attacking prowess compared to them.
Compared to run where you said they exploded in all facets, they scored an average of 3 more points than we have this year.

The score isn't necessarily the issue, but the wrestle was strong back then also and many average teams had benefited from it too. But I am interested in how we play and the score board will sort itself out.

Anyway, lets just wait and see what our team turns into shall we.

Unless the Eels are paying $1.05 (or less) they're a genuine chance of losing. There are no guaranteed wins and the only must win games are in the finals, or when trying to hit a certain ladder position heading into the finals. We can lose this game and still finish top four. That's all that really matters. Finishing first or second would be better but it isn't essential.

We can probably afford to drop two more games this year, which might be this one and the Penrith rematch.

Mate I never said they didn't have weaknesses. In fact I think we are a better team if we played to our full potential just like they do almost every weak. A lot of you guys are thinking of the Rooster of the the last month or so that is an injury depleted mess but still by enlarge playing better then us. I'm talking about how they play more then the outcome. The current injury riddled Roosters hasn't the players to beat a well prepared and drilled quality team, but due to six again rule and it exposing the lesser teams, they have the systems in place to compete and still defeat most teams.

We on the other hand haven't perfected out systems and I'll give benefit of the doubt here and say we are still working on developing ours so we are vulnerable even when we have a full team roster available let alone a couple of players missing.

But when fully fit the Roosters systems is a team that are constantly moving. All players with or without the ball are in motion in attack. Always ready to be used as part of a play or be the decoy or ready to back up if needed. They never really overplay their mark either. They just play well enough to dominate the ruck and the essential 1%ers. Then if tight during the last 20 mins they find an extra gear or two and explode to blow a team away. They don't over play and burn out during the season proper.

They leave the full intensity impact games for the pointy end of the season. We could learn a thing or two from them I think, but our systems have to be in order to do so.

Or in the reality stakes, the coach can't get the best out of them.

This is what I’m fearing. And I bet the fill in players play out of their skins tonight.
