all reasons why he will probably need a few games to settle in and if the training reports were accurate he has worked pretty hard to fit in

he needs game time

Speaking of Gutherson, I think the Game Day team at Pirtek need to use lower case letters when they show his profile if and when he scores.

Clint Gutherson would look ok. CLINT GUTHERSON not so much.

Yep his debut was 3 years ago. Been injury prone ever since.

No, his debut was in round 26. The next year (2014) he played NYC most of the year, including Junior Origin. He then played round 17 and 18 in first grade, where he broke his foot, then he was back for round 26. Next year he f**ked his knee in round one 2015.

That's only two injuries, one for the season and one for eight weeks. They're not small injuries, but I don't think you could say two is a pattern.

If Brisbane lost Milford at halftime and Norman didn't get hurt would of we been closer?
If Hunt didn't play and Foran did would of we been closer?
Will Danny add some pop off the bench?
Will Kaysa- KE -Taka -Gutherson be better after a very long time out of game with a run under the belt?

I'm going to answer YES too every one of those above. League is not that complicated a game. A bit better in a few small areas it what seperates the teams from winning and losing. We are in the game to our eyeballs.

Yeah agreed mate. Injuries decided that match.

I wouldn't go that far, but there is no doubt at full strength we are in it up to our eyeballs.

Injuries may have decided the score but I don't think the result was ever in doubt

Yep that game last year was against us too, only played about 5 minutes into the season.

Just with the team, good to see Wicks back, unlucky for Alvaro but he'll get better. More importantly, Foran is in the team and Norman is cleared to play.

But am I missing something here? Did Gower pick up a slight injury? He's been named in the Wenty team.

I just think that it was too early in the season for what we tried as the execution was off.Jennings looked like he was lost and semi's mind was still probably in Fiji.

The dogs, the rabbits all played it simple.

Plenty of time for flashy stuff when the players get to know each other and can anticipate the players inside

We didn't go forward first, that was the problem. That play would have worked better in the second half where the forwards went a lot better.

It was a way to get Semi the ball I guess but it certainly didn't work. Maybe Gordon backing up on the inside would work?

I don't expect much on Saturday tbh, our defence will be very important to back up last weeks over all effort.

All good points but my point was that our attack was too predictable and I hope it is better this week. I understand that having the halfback out will affect the attack.

I would love to see Jennings running an in slant line on some of those plays.

Someone mentioned Souths and Bulldogs were simple but the difference is they got quick play the balls and although it looks simple the defence cannot predict what they are going to do next on every play like the Broncos did with us.

I didnt think our play the balls were slow.

Jennings should just roam everywhere looking for the ball instead of just staying put

Like those guys in NFL where they run from left to right before they huck and the defense keeps following him.

We should also have plays where he follows a forward who can offload like Kenny, Mau, Gower, Paulo, then zoom past everyone

Gower is playing for Wenty. We dont want Jenko following him for an offload.

At least it all appears CLINT GUTHER would be worse

This is where people get confused by 'simple' in terms of gameplan. It doesn't mean one-out-shit-up-the-middle, it means the playmakers get to play what they see. Obviously of the forwards aren't getting quick play-the-balls then the playmakers won't have any opportunities. That means when they get the ball it looks ugly. The opposite of a simple gameplan is a highly structured gameplan.

So you raise a good point about the players needed for a simple gameplan. It's not just instinctive halves that are required. You also need plenty of go-forward.

Thing is is that Kelly tends to stifle the attack as he holds the ball too long. It's like look at me, I'm the product, then offloads. Hence Norman et Al doesn't get early ball.

Granted that if his lba and ta is high then he deserves to have the ball in his hands

He is a backup. He should just get the ball out early to men with more capability rather than be a wannabe full time nrl half.

That way he will benefit the team more
