I don't think so. The salary cap for a dev list is $650000, up to six players with each on a base of 80 grand plus 3000 per 1st grade match. So it's self contained.

Also, I'm not 1000% sure of this, but I believe next year we can get a decent salary cap discount for Gutho as it's his ninth year at the club (5% of value, 10% the next if I'm reading the rules correctly). That's going to make a difference. He's the only player left from 2016 (except Jnr who left for a while)

Re Talagi, I haven’t seen anything in his game to warrant the hype or the elevation to first grade. But now we have to the kid a chance. We need to Be patient. Hope he comes good.

I was positive about him with the love TCT give him but watched second half NSW Cup against Dogs and he didn't show too much but said was learning fb role. Strange considering how skinny we are at centre but maybe they are turning him into genuine utility.

Anyhow, seems any young player promoted by Brisbane, Storm and Roosters always seem comfortable in NRL, whereas our touted young players nearly always seem to struggle. Why?

This match against Manly will be a big test for him as they have amongst the fastest centre pairing in NRL so I hope he handles the big occasion and realistically he is the only option.

Btw why are they persisting with Lume and Dunster in NSW Cup? Lume = meh and Dunster cannot run and their places need to be taken by other players capable of playing NRL in the future. Bad move by the club imo.

TCT boys as dedicated & hard-working as they are. They are there to put a positive spin on the club and players which is all good but at the same time you have to be realistic about a few things.

I would trust your own eye and go with that.

Some say he will be fine for another 5yrs. I personally think we will have to move on by 2026/2027.
