The job the coach wants him to do his lead the line speed and then hit and stick until he gets more help from the other middle forwards. He didn't do that 7 times last night.
Actually if he falls off after help arrives it still counts as a missed tackle.

Anyway stats from one game are meaningless. He missed f**k all last week, and this week he's injured.

If that's acceptable, what's a missed tackle number that's unacceptable for someone with that role? I'd argue about 3 or 4.
A lot of his misses are diving efforts at players who aren't even running at him - he causes big men to change direction. Missed tackle numbers in the middle need to be taken with a grain of salt. They are more indicative of aggression than ineffective defence.

Lots of errors and allowed too much 2nd phase but gee game management by 1, 6, 7 & 9 was poor. You'd think they were all rookies.

Not top 8 team. In same basket as dogs, saints, tigers, titans, manly, souths, warriors, knights.
And of those warriors and titans are best chance of breaking thru.

Why the hell is he falling off tackles once help arrives. Perhaps that's one reason the Sharks offloaded at will last night.

True but he missed his fair share in round 2 as well. Regardless, I was only referring to last night's effort...which was poor.

That's just "alternate facts" made up to suit your argument.
The part in bold is a ridiculous statement. If that were the case players such as Damien Cook and Segeyaro would be commanding the same salary as Cameron Smith. Come on Pou, you're better than that.

Was going to write a 10 page essay about yesterday's shit performance but I can't be bothered. We were our own worst enemy and as Arthur said in the pressers we didn't give ourselves a chance. I can't blame one player for yesterday's performance, it was genuinely a shit team effort. People were picking us for top 4 top 8 before the season started but I didnt see it happening and still don't. Got the raiders next week, won't get any easier.

Oh we def need to be in the market for 5/8 to help Norman. Not blaming gutho for yesterday's loss but once opposition shut down Norman, we have nothing.

Thats his go to play. If you're gonna argue with him, prepare yourself for bullshit points that morph and change while he tries to make it sound like he was right all along.

He made 47 tackles, and plays in the middle, he will miss tackles.

We made more metres then them, and don't reckon they won the ruck thus Pritchard did pretty good defensively!'

Don't recall the second forward pass, but was one of them from dummy half from Norman?? Not 100%.

You made 30 more metered off 13 runs.
On average meters per run, we won the battle.

Given he passed the HIA and stayed off anyway which ended up using an interchange would suggest they did try and failed as his eye was worse than they thought
Yeah agreed about the eye. What I meant was they wouldn't have just taken him off for a breather - he went off because he was injured.

That's because I don't just pick one side of a point and argue it. Unlike you idiots I recognise everything is complex, even in rugby league.

So if it seems my 'argument' is shifting it's because I'm not making an argument. I am refuting anyone who thinks they have all the answers. My fallback point is always that I trust the coach. If I don't understand his choices that's my problem. And if you don't understand I'll remind you whose problem that is.

I love how after all these years people still see interactions on these forums as 'arguments' that must be won...
Well they are certainly "arguments" in the actual sense of the word but I don't need to win them. I'm just providing my point of view with some reasoning which seems to be contradictory to Pou's. I dare say we'll both maintain our perspectives and life will go on.

The point is that if you attempt a low percentage tackle (e.g. diving at a fleeting exposure of a runner when one of your own players is between him and you) then you are more likely to miss. Just shuffling up and back and only tackling people who come straight at you, like a Paulo, Vave or Taumalolo, leads to fewer missed tackles.

All good MEely, I didn't have you in mind when I wrote that.

I trust the coach as well...and I trust that he wouldn't be thrilled with Kritchard's performance yesterday. On the flip side, I think he would have been pretty happy with some of his previous games.
