Yes and he was eventually released because it was obvious he wasn't first grade material.

well eventually being the operative word, he was always a back up half who hit a purple patch for a couple of seasons and did well, that's what Robson is, that's what Blake green is, that's what Matt Head is, that's what Eddie Paea is and unfortunately for alot of you, that's what Tim Smith is....

Matt Head is a quality player, just made of glass unfortunately.

What has he said that is so untrue?

Tim Smith took his team to 2 Major semis and he wasn't as terrible in England as Stagger would have us believe.

I just don't think i would put him in the same category as the others, i also wouldn't have Head in that category just yet either.

What i am finding funny is that this forum's pulverising opinions on Tim Smith and the fact that his name appears in nearly every thread has forced Stagger into quite clearly being frustrated and lashing out about Tim.

Stagger is usually a calming influence but this forum has cracked him when it comes to Tim Smith.......

Korny lets touch base when he signs his next contract yeah???..meanwhile, i'm still waiting for his name to appear on a gains list for an NRL club.

With our main go to man being Hayne... having an organising halfback rather than a playmaker isn't a bad option. I'd expect Mortimor to take over the halfback role next year with KK playing five eighth. But Robson's experience, even though he's not played a lot of first grade, would come in handy even just at training and to help the younger guys out a bit. Let's keep in mind Robson has been coached by Des Hasler, and trained alongside Matt Orford so would have learned a lot from them, even though he may not be talented enough himself, he could have a few tips for KK and Morts just in regards to the leadership of a team.

That was in no means a go at you Stagger. I completely understand your opinion and attitude towards him, there is no need for his name to be mentioned anywhere near the amount it is mentioned.

I am a big fan of his but i also know that he needs to prove himself in the NRL again, if the Warriors can give Seymour a second (or is it 100th) chance then i have no doubt Tim will be given a chance by a club even if it is as a third string halfback.

Then if he is good enough he will play first grade again, my opinion is that he will be.......

I am a little confused though, i am sure it was you who said that we were looking at how his shoulder surgery went and how he recovered etc. Casper (who i also assume you know who Casper is) is convinced he is coming back to us if all goes well.

If that is the case, maybe TS thinks he is coming back to us to prove himself and is not looking for other clubs? He would also know that he will be third or 4th string halfback and have to earn it and if that is the case, what is the problem???????

no problem at all korny, I'll have nothing but admiration for him if he comes back from a shoulder reco but all I'm stating is that he's no more than a back up NRL half and until he proves otherwise and i hope he does, than that's all I see him being..

funnily enough you also believe he's a 3rd or 4th string half as stated in your third paragraph, so I'm just trying to work out what we're argueing for??

That's fair enough too, i definitely understand yours and many others opinions, they are all certainly valid.

My personal opinion is that he is a 1st choice halfback but due to his previous/current circumstances and about to have a major operation i understand why he would have to go to a club and work his way up from Jim Beam Cup or even possibly Bundy Cup.

Imo most clubs would be skeptical but would probably love to take the gamble as it wouldn't cost them much if he did fail.

I will be watching with great interest and his progress if he recovers from his shoulder operation successfully.

As stagger said..... lets talk when he signs his next contract. At this point in time most teams top 25 are seemingly settled for next year outside of the last 4 - 5 slots in the lower end. If he picks up a starting role between now and March it may be a different story.
