Wests lost to Canberra at Kirkham today, 18-30. Raiders played really well and Wests definitely need to lift if they're going to be competitive. They did have a few not playing so maybe that's the reason.

That is a poor result but I see the twitter feed had Wests up 10-0 at quarter time so I imagine that they had a better credentialed side on at the start and once the SS guys start it interchanging it goes down hill.

Cabramatta beat Western Division Rams U/21 by 32-4.

Peninsula Seagulls has reported that they beat St Marys 4 tries to 2 in SS but neither St Marys or Windsor has posted a result for the RMC trial.

Has Kingsgrove been relegated to Sydney Shield? They lost to Collegians reserve grade last week and are now trialling against a Shield team.

They'll get belted too.

Asquith better hope they get up over St Mary's A grade, that could be an embarrassing loss. How good will their side be? They've always had strong A grade obviously but would most of those gone to RMC/Shield?

Is it St Marys or St Clair? St Marys don't have a side in the 1st division of the Penrith A grade this year.

The NSWRL need to have a good long look at themselves in regards to the Kingsgrove Colts team. The comp is a joke whilst they continue to take part in the RMC, regularly being belted with ease. What hope do those players have in gaining confidence getting toweled up each week? They belong in the Sydney Shield, and the NSWRL should organise a financial subsidy to ensure that The Entrance take the 13th spot occupied by Kingsgrove. They are an opposed training session and it really weakens the comp, which is a shame.

Hills suffered a reverse against Souths NYC tonight 14-18. Both sides scored 3 tries but Hills only converted one.

Hills spent the first 17 minutes of the second half camped in the Souths quarter without scoring. In this period Tim Robinson was held up over the line and then when Gerard McCallum combined nicely with the centre to put Aaron Weston over, one of the refs ruled it as a forward pass.

As Magpie said last week Hills are not putting the combinations together yet.

Trevor Schodel was running the water for Hills and 40 year old prop Mick Hawkins was playing tonight.

Kingsgrove had several players out and the side playing against Collegians was predominantly their A-Grade side.
As far as trialling again a SS side this weekend, that's predominately due to the uncertainly of Roosters boys being available when the trial was organised.

I agree with a few of your points here. But they are a different beast. Obviously they are not a results based on score setup. They are a development squad and resource for blooding Roosters U20s. Surprisingly the non Roosters boys gain a lot in confidence playing in this comp and their football ability improves immensely. In 2015 they had some shocking results but were also competitive in a lot of their games.
There are definite merits in looking at them playing the Shield comp but don't underestimate the opportunities that Kingsgrove has given to many young players. In a short period of time there are quite a lot of Kingsgrove boys out there in the NRL and NSW Cup.

Did Boustani or Mahony (sic) play?

Is Brod Wright playing this year?

I think once the combinations come, 2nd man plays, looking for their young fullback backing up etc they (Hills) will be competitive.

True but surely they can learn said skills in the shield comp where they aren't just competitive but can gain a sense of winning. The RMC has the potential to be a very formidable 3rd-tier comp but with an opposed bye in Kingsgrove on the fixture list it loses its quality.

Boustani and Mahoney were not there and I don't think Wright was there.
