I don't think Idris is eligible as he played first grade last year. Josh Dugan or Dan Mortimor would have to be favourites. Throw Kevin Locke in there too.

Idris is still eligible.

It will be out of Idris and Dugan IMO, Idris has played the whole year and has been impressive although Dugan's recent form gives him the inside running.

Kevin Gordon from the Titans is a player I have been real impressed with this year. I don't think he will win it but I wouldn't be surprised if he does

You are eligible if you played three games or less the previous year. Idris only just qualifies having played three games.

Moltzen doesn't qualify having played about ten last year.

they should change that rule.. so if a player plays 3 games for 10 yrs in a row then finally plays a full season and has a blinder he can get rookie of the yr lol

I think it'd be unfair for Ellis to be nominated he has probably played at least five years in England...

Big League had an article about the rookie of the year during Round 18, Dugan wasn't even mentioned in the top 5. Not that he doesn't deserve to be nominated now or even be a front runner now but it's still amazing what a few good games can do for you...

i read somewhere that ellis doesn't qualify

the rule should probably be anyone under 20 can qualify for the award regardless if its your 2nd or 3rd season. although i guess the award is there to reward and recognise new talent, which is strange why idris can still qualify as he was getting alot of hype in 2008

dugan has only played 13 games this yr, not alot really.. has he really been setting the world on fire? (havent seen too many raiders games)

if ayshford debuted earlier in the season he would be a real shot. already played 11 games and been quite impressive

Idris was getting hype because he was big and looked like NSW's answer to Folau.

That would be just cruel if it went to just anyone under 20. 2006-2009 would have only had two winners- Hayne and Folau.

Dugan and Croker from the raiders have looked really good. Mortimer is putting on a good showing but as said Dugan comfortably

I think Mortimer is a pretty decent chance at sneaking past Dugan, based on the incredible turnaround by the Eels coinciding with his elevation to first grade.

I think Mortimer will win it - because of the big turnaround in his team since he's been in 1st grade.

I'd like to see Dugan win it. Also think Croker is putting in a good late run

lol I see logic isn't your strong point. It's only if you play 3 or less games in your 1st year. There is nothing wrong with the rule since alot of youngsters are blooded at the end of the season when their teams have missed the finals (as Idris was last year). Doesn't really give them a chance to impress.

It's definitely between Idris and Dugan. Mortimer would have been up there but he hasn't played enough games.
