Look, its simple. The selectors oviously wanted someone more than just a "fullback". They wanted someone with ballplaying skills, someone who can kick, and who is also good at deflating highballs. In terms of overall balance, Hunt is a better player than Bowen (maybe not at ball running though). I love Bowen, but lets think back to last year, SOO Game 3. They dropped slater and put Bowen at fullback. I did not like this. I was scared. What did he do? sh*t all. I don't even remmebr him running the ball! That too would of been a factor, as it was his first "start" in a rep game, and one that failed miserably. I can bet anything he is not QLD fullback this year either.

And when Hunt has a good game, i just wonder what all the haters are going to say.

Hunt's a good player ... as are the likes of Bowen, Hodgon, Wesser, Thaiday etc. Personally with Mini out I'd have gone with Bowen first but that would only be just in fron of a whole bunch of others.
The reason they picked Hunt was just to piss the Kiwis off and let them know they can't have him ... pure and simple. Same thing happened years ago when Ian Roberts said (after being constantly overooked by us) that he might put his hand up and play for England, his place of birth. He was picked for his debut in the next test!

See and this where the sh*t starts. Peoples bias towards their club. Judging from the avatar and sig and your quote about Hornby i will say your also blinded from Hunts great form. I mean, next you will be saying that Cooper is playing miles ahead of Hodges, and that Cooper up-staged him in their game at WIN.

Oh, so Hornby & Bowen don't kick hey ? Bowen is practically Cowboys 5/8th. So don't give us that sh*t 'they want another play-maker' when they have Johns, Lockyer & Thurston in the team.

Ok Hornby is nothing special(maybe they wanted a specialist fullback anyway?). I admit he is a great player but not in the ranks of Hunt and Bowen. Bowen is also small and not that great under the highball(due to height). And why not have another playmaker. With Hunt a great second reciever and capable of causing trouble, him and Lockyer are deadly. Still if you re-read my other post i was suprised he was not picked. Now, i'm just telling why he was not.

You obviously didn't watch the game very well blinded by your tears. Bowen got the ball alot around the edges of the ruck, especially when attacking NSWs line. Failed miserably ? He made one mistake & the whole team was appalling. P.S Remember that bomb he caught leaping into the air ?

When? I will watch it again, but from what i remeber he was terrible. Sure he might of done "some" things good, but nothing like what Slater was doing or even what he was doing at club level. He was down and i blame that on pressure. Also he made one mistake because HE NEVER HELD THE BALL!!!! From every kick return he would pass to Williams. Watch it it pissed me off.

this is f**king great. a couple of days ago all you NSW people were telling us to stop having a cry about not enough Queenslanders in the team. Now yous are the one having a sook. Well GET f**kED YOU NSW WORTHLESS CRUMBS. haha. Hunt has been playing very good this year, he has skill, size and creativity. Ok so his defence isn't his strongest point but Bowen isn't the best defensive player either plus he is very short (still an awesome fullback though). Hunt deserves the spot. And if you think it's funny that Hunt got picked then the whole Aussie team is a joke. Just look at the players:


1. Mini "NSW trash" (been playing sh!thouse this year, Hunt's in better form).

2. matt king (someone needs a bullet, been woeful this year done nothing at all, plus he is a f**kin center. This is where matty Bowen should've player).

3. Gasnier (fair enough good player. Very loyal to rugby league isn't he?)

4. Cooper (What the f**k?!?! Someone needs to be shot then resurected then shot again three times over. Hodges should be there he is way better than cooper, especially with the form he had lately.)

5.Tahu (that's a bit random, ok player though)

6. Lockyer (What can I say - best player in the world)

7. Johns "NSW TRASH" (will be great alongside lockyer)

8. Willie Mason (holy sh*t! He's literaly done sweet f**k all this year plus he's gone real sh!t in the last 2 years. i reckon even tronc would've been a better choice, and tronc's sh*t. price should've been there)

9. Buderus (not bad, can play good when around good players)

10. Civoneciva (Best prop in nrl at the moment)

11. Luke O'Donnel (um ok. he should not be here. bench maybe but not run on. Mick Crocker should've made it before o donnel.)

12. hindmarsh (great player)

13. Kennedy (yeah he deserves this spot can't really think of any other lock's that'd go here at the moment. carrol's got a way better defensive game but yeah. kennedy's good)


14. Thurston (Had to be in the side somewhere otherwise all the cowboys supporters would've shot themselves and that'd be a major loss cos dairy farmers needs cash to support the cowboys. plus he is a good player.)

15. mark O'meley (holy sh*t what were they thinking? he is sh*t. f**king roy bell would've been a better pick. )

16. Steve menzies ( a bit old but a good player and can play on the outside)

17. Steve Simpson (oh my god, and now for something completley random. this is probably where o'donnel should've been.)

All in All this team is full of piece of sh*t lowlife NSW androtops bar the 4 Queensland players and you got a whole new comp called "state of insanity: NSW verses NZ WTF!" Personally i wouldn't care if the KIWIS won it'd show the stupidity of Ricky Stuart.

I mean, i said it before he should of been picked in front of Hunt, but they obviously wanted more than a fullback and someone with a bit more strength and size.

Thats true, but i would back in Lockyer and Thurston with a backline that will contain the likes of Hodges, Bell, Inglis, Tate, and Slater over a halves combo of Trent "where is wigan" Barrett and Craig "Club player" Gower.

Lol, Trent "Consistently Brilliant at Origin level" Barrett, who will once again play awesome. Lockyer has been average at origin level last few years, your backline over rated and you forwards lack agression and talent since Webke went. Sure we wont have Johns but we probly will have 12 of the test team plus Minichello, thebest fullback in the game, come origin. I think we'll do allright.

Minichello is also the best fullback in the game.
