Does nobody else think it was pretty curious he was here?

You didn't answer my question.

I do actually find it interesting Folau was over here. Who would come to NZ from Aus JUST for a concert?? Surely, any decent artist would hit Sydney as well as Auckland. In fact, generally NZ is a quick stop-over during an Australian tour.

Surely our management would have flicked Israel a phone call to stop in and have a chat. He's pretty much exactly the kind of player we need/want.

Not meat loaf sadly... think more behind the scene like simon cowell but far poorer and far less clout.

While in England, Bell is understood to have sounded out Wigan's Harrison Hansen, who is off contract next year. A 26-year-old back rower who has played his entire career for Wigan, Hansen is the son of Shane Hansen, who settled in England after stints with Salford and Swinton.

•Tony Iro is expected to confirm to the Warriors by Monday whether he will remain at the club as assistant to new coach Matt Elliott.

Gold Coast's Peyroux signs for Vodafone Warriors

Gold Coast utility back Dominique Peyroux has today become the fourth new player signed by the Vodafone Warriors for the 2013 NRL season.

The 23-year-old Aucklander arrives home on Sunday ready to join new Vodafone Warriors head coach Matthew Elliott and the NRL players for the first day of off-season training on Monday.

Peyroux’s signing a two-year contract follows the earlier acquisitions Thomas Leuluai from Wigan and Melbourne’s NRL premiership-winning duo Todd Lowrie and Dane Nielsen.

Able to play in the centres, on the wing and at fullback, Peyroux said he’s thrilled about returning to Auckland in his quest to establish himself at NRL level after a total of 16 games for the Titans in the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

“It’s great to be coming back to Auckland. I left when I was 15 but New Zealand will always be my home and I can’t wait for this,” he said.

“I will be doing all I can to compete for a spot and get as many first-grade games as I can.

“Matt (Elliott) has given me the chance and I’ll be giving it a real go.”
Elliott said he had been impressed with Peyroux for some time.

“I’ve been keeping track of him and really like what he can bring to the Vodafone Warriors,” he said.

“We’ve been working to find a player to build our depth in the outside backs to create the kind of competition we need for places. I’m confident Dominique will do a great job for us.”

Peyroux boasts arguably the most exotic background of any player in the NRL.

Born in Auckland, he’s of French, Cook Island, Samoan and Solomon Island descent.

He played his junior football for Otahuhu, Mangere East and Papatoetoe and attended Aorere College before moving to Australia with his family. In Sydney, he attended Matraville Sports High School which has also produced current NRL players Sandor Earl, Martin Kennedy, Jacob Miller, Willie Tonga, James Tamou and Adam Reynolds as well as Eastern Suburbs fullback Russell Fairfax, one of the game’s biggest stars in the 1970s, and rugby union’s famed Ella brothers.

He played NYC football for the Sydney Roosters in 2008 and Gold Coast in 2009, going on to play for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the Queensland Cup before making his NRL debut for the Titans against Newcastle in round 21 last year. He played four games in 2011 and 12 in 2012.

The Vodafone Warriors were familiar opponents this year. He was in the centres for the Titans’ trial against them at North Harbour Stadium in February and also appeared in each of the regular season matches against the Vodafone Warriors in March and July.

Peyroux, who has represented the Cook Islands, lists the Vodafone Warriors as one of his favourite teams when he was a young fan while former Vodafone Warriors centre Clinton Toopi – a Gold Coast team-mate in 2010 and 2011 – was one of his favourite players.

Harry Seijka signed until end of 2014.

NRL: Siejka signs for Warriors
5:30 AM Wednesday Dec 5, 2012

The Warriors have added depth by signing Penrith's Harry Siejka on a two-year NRL contract.

The Warriors have added depth to their playmaking resources by signing Penrith's Harry Siejka on a two-year NRL contract through to the end of the 2014 season.

The Bathurst-born 20-year-old made a whirlwind visit to Auckland yesterday to sign his contract. He'll return to begin training with the squad on Monday.

A halfback who can also play at standoff as well as being a goal-kicker, Siejka has the distinction of playing in each of the NYC's first five seasons in existence, having made his debut as a 16-year-old in 2008. An Australian Schoolboys representative in 2007 and 2010, he has four NRL appearances to his credit since his first-grade debut last year.

"I've had a lot to do with [head coach] Matt [Elliott] and couldn't be more excited about having the opportunity to join him at the Vodafone Warriors," said Siejka, who has a Polish heritage.

This is good, it keeps Shaun Johnson honest and doesn't guarantee his spot. I think he needs that.
