Hard to get a real feel as to where we are from this game. Melbourne were not themselves in terms of personnel and also preparation. That being so we still needed to play well to beat them and we did so handily.

Nathans form picked up immensely but he still has a way to get to his best. Luai also picked up his game as well which obviously wasn't that hard to do since he was abysmal against the eels. The Fox commentators mentioned that he registered his 1st try assist in a months play! In saying that he did botch a try in the 1st half - not sure if it was a bad pass, just the wet or the Centre and winger overrunning the play. His form was good but still a way off what he is capable of.

Speaking of botched tries we still have problems on that right edge. Both Edwards and Crichton seem to have huge problems passing the ball. There is no harder worker and just plain guttsy a player as Edwards but he is literally where the balls goes to die.

Overall it was a good performance with everyone playing well in particular Yeo, Api and Kikau but I was a little disappointed with the last 20 mins or so. The Storm were completely gassed and were ready to be put to the Sword. I felt we could have put a few more tries on, and perhaps even put the curse of the 50 on them. Would have helped to have given our biggest Premiership threat that extra mental baggage.

Thoughts from Panthers fans on Yeo getting 3 Dally M points? He was good as usual but as a neutral I thought Kikau was the best player on the field probably followed by Luai and neither got a vote!

Seems like Yeo just has to turn up to get points

Yeo made more post contact metres than Kikau's all run metres.

Easy three points.

Yeo Deserves it. I thought that Api was 2nd best on Field. Edwards with the single point has me thinking that Johns is on the white stuff again, either that or he is still concussed from that Sonny Bill hit that forced him into retirement.

How dare you question the lord like that.

178m gained
Kiks 58

26 tackles
Kiks 25.

Yeo had more passes than Cooper Johns. a few passes that led to tries or almost in the case of Crichton getting held up

Kiks did great with limited chances but Yeo was very good

I don't think Hughes and Papenhuyzen fix their defensive line or go forward, I think we edged them for meters and momentum made with the ball and denied in defence before the Welch injury and after it we're clearly ahead. Their edge defence looks really exploitable at the moment but that might look different when they're fit and have had the season to work on it, and we might not be so hot defending out wide either.
