Yes the Raiders were beaten by loads the previous 2 weeks, however, they also beat the Storm in Canberra not that long ago and a team coming of 2 massive hidings is always going to come out swinging

It was an ugly game against a side that were desperate - Historically we would have lost that game but this new squad has the ability to win these close ones

A win is a win and I for one am loving our top 4 spot on the ladder at the moment!

Think Moylan has really stepped up over the last month. Kite had a solid game.

Moylan, Wallace and Whare have been our best this year by far.

Ever since City v Country he has stepped up his game - A lot of enthusiasm and desire to get involved as much as he can

Also, as one of the big criticisers of Soward, I have to say I have changed my tune - He is playing some very confident footy at the moment

Moylan has only played 20 odd games so will keep improving.

Soward was always going to go well. He's a confidence player and we have enough players around to stroke his ego to get him firing. Still not as his best but heading that way.

A lot of other teams' fans are too stubborn to realise they were wrong but we've got a decent set of halves in Wallace and Soward. They aren't the best in the game but they are nowhere near the huge failure most people wanted them to be at the start of the season. Pretty happy with them.

Yesterday proved how important Simmons is to our side. Two huge plays. Every second dickhead wants to get rid of Simmons purely because he doesn't run 100m in 10 seconds but this bloke is without doubt the best winger in the club and IMO if all was fair in the world, would be close to a SOO jumper.

Depends what you want from your halves Moylan is leading our try assists with 6. Moylan and Whare get plenty of ball to do there stuff but Idris doesn't

I'd say that more of an indication of Jamal not standing deep enough or running onto the ball at speed

Moylan is a bit faster then he gets credit for here as well I think. Anyway that was an ugly, ugly game to watch but back to back road wins into the bye so I am happy.

Yep Simmo has proven he deserves to be in the side as well (and I'm a fan), I think some people just want some other players to have a chance. I would love to see Nabuli given a crack.

Just watched the highlights, Moylan was all over that game. I liked him before but he's really getting more involved now. Also two, maybe three of Canberra's tries (all in the first half) were from completely average defense. They got the ball to the right man in the right place but some diabolical tackle attempts from us meant they didn't have to work very hard.

We stand flat in attack no matter where we are. We are getting better but go sideways more often then not run out of room. Hopefully one of them Stands deeper when we go left so he and Mansour can run on to it.

This. Any winger scores the tries he did. 2 times he was in space on the halfway but got run down. Maybe DWZ or Nabuli score them maybe not but potentially they do

I'm not sure that's fair. He's a reliable finisher and is able to get the ball over the line at times when others might not. He knows where needs to be, has a safe pair of hands and he has a good partnership with Whare. I think he deserves more credit for his efforts.

I like Simmo but we need more speed in the team imo. Id replace Mansour as well but we can't until our forwards pull their fingers out and make the meters

Well between our absolutely woeful defense (biggest peeve was f**king Milford making it back into the field of play on that kick return) and some exceptionally dodgy calls that was the most frustrating game I've had to watch all season. Threw a few things and lucky the neighbours don't speak English because they would have picked up some inventive swearing.

Got there, though. Broke the streak. Call me pessimistic but I actually expected us to lose today since this is typically the kind of game we roll over in. I understand they are frustrated (and desperate) but geez the Raiders players were a bunch of sooks. Tossing up if it's worth my time to peruse the match thread for some fans sooking as well. It's almost as if people think they deserve to win against us.

I agree 100% with all of this. My wife had to shut the windows and tell me to stop swearing at the TV and I think that was at the point we had 3 goes at tackling Milford in the in goal and failed miserably. Between that and the terrible ball control, it was doing my head in. I am obviously thrilled we are in 3rd place this far into the comp but I still think we aren't playing that well, just too much dropped ball (this game and particularly against the sharks) and dumb stuff like Idris offloading on the first tackle under our posts. The good part is at least we are scoring points now (26 and 32) in our last couple but it's the silly errors that I fear will cost us when we face Manly, Storm etc. On Simmo, I think he would be an origin player if he was a couple of yards faster. And Ricky Stuart is kidding himself for once again blaming the refs, we had just as many dud calls go against us as they did.

Ha, State of Origin? I realise it is natural for fans to overrate their own players, but that is just taking the piss.


He's good under the high ball. As soon as we find a winger who is as good in that department and actually has wheels and power, he should be gone.
