Thought
Agree Johnno , he runs with his head way up in the air , Fuiomano’s tackle undoubtedly collected him , but I have seen far , far worse this season . He will collect 3 - 4 weeks on the sideline as a result , as the judiciary will make an example of him and what better player than one that is wears the Big Red V .
Thought Pap turned his back into Fui. Unlucky

Went to the game and was surprised we were still in it at half time with 11-12 players against 13, huge respect for that. We were a chance until dufty went down injured, after that it looked like our players lost confidence.

Funny hearing melbourne supporters behind me calling us grubs for these dangerous legs tackles, who do you think brought that into the game?

Wow we really need de Belin back to lock up the middle. Expect JP & Ravalawa on the wings next week with Williame & Bird in the centre’s. Ramsey at fullback.

I think McGuire & Sims will be ok with the judiciary.

Billy Burns continues to be an enigma to me, I’d like to see Jackson Ford to a run.

Kerr had his best game in a while but I’d like us to sign Atoni Rudolf ASAP.

Norman has to go, with Dufty out we need more creativity from the 5:8 position.

Fuimaono send off was fair enough, Pap went off on the medi-cart

McGuire pushes his aggression to the limit but we all wanted a middle forward with mongrel to stiffen the pack. I doubt he’ll have any charges to answer. Not sure what happened to McCulloch but McGuire filled in pretty well.

Valiant in defeat, forwards stood up & everyone tried. 14-10 down at halftime, the Ramsey no-try looked like a try to me his feet were off the ground. Another shafting by the bunker.

Hunt tried in attack but his defence is terrible, really terrible it’s actually a real problem.

Norman tried hard but he’s just too pedestrian to legitimately challenge the line. His best days are far behind him he should just retire at seasons end.

Why play Burns at centre with Feagai on the bench? Feel bad for Burns he’s made to look poor playing out of position.

Hook will probably be positive about the effort in his press conference about the effort but in reality we got hammered by a superior team that was down on troops.

Can only hope the same level of effort is there in the coming weeks so we can string a few wins together.

Ramsey to fullback let’s see what he can do, Mat Feagai to the wing.

Amone must be close to first grade we need a spark that Norman doesn’t have. Hopefully when Hook & Co go through the video he’ll see it too.
Realy got to disagree about Hunts defence. He is quite good but with a man overlap he was put in a position to make a choice that didnt always come off. We have a few arm tacklers in this side but Hunt is not one of them.

Disgraceful officiating by the refs today how McGuire is on report for tackling around the legs leaves me completely mystified. Fui's tackle deserves a sin binning not a send off.

Our last send off was Matt Prior in 2012 when he elbowed Thurston in the head that deserved a send off this didn't it was already a tough ask playing Melbourne in Queensland much less with 12 men for 65 minutes.

Onto next week

1) Ramsay
2) Fegai
3) Bird
4) Fegai
5) Peirera
6) Norman
7) Hunt
8) Lawrie
9) McCullough
10) Vaughan
11) Kerr
12) Sims
13) Burns

14) Amone
15) Ellis
16) Alvaro
17) Fummalisa

Well I have to disagree with a few people on here.Firstly we played unbelieveably well today and i dont think ive seen Hunt play better. The whole team passed the ball, very little one off running and playing like a real team.
However, are we the slowest learners in the League or what? If they had of watched any of the games this weekend and seen what the refs were doing, then maybe things might be different. But we went out and did the same rubbish again and got thrown out of the game for doing it. How many times does Rava have to get caught before he realises shoulder charges are illegal. McGuire-the same-stupid tactics that get penalised now. As for head tackles -they were warned yet we still managed to get a guy sent off.It doesnt matter whether we agree or not, these are the new rules and playing 12 against Melbourne will never work.I honestly think if we had 13 on the park we would have beaten them. We were playing out of our skin and i really hope Hook absolutely screams at the guys who got penalised and ruined all our effort. Im proud of how we did but im sick of watching us ruin each game with stupid foul play that will now actually get you sent off. Unfortunately rules are rules-we either learn or face a slow painful year with 12 players every match

I’m not going to bag any player after today’s effort. Sure the score doesn’t look good on paper but the effort was certainly there considering the obstacles that were put in front of us.
The boys just ran out of gas late in the game & when you’re playing against the most dominant club in the last decade you’ve probably got to expect them to convert their chances against a tired 12 man side.
I’ll go against the grain here & say I feel for Billy Burns. He’s been asked to constantly play out of position & today was always going to be a monumental task under the circumstances.
His catch & pass for Rava’s try shows he’s got the skills.
If anyone thinks Ford would have done any better is clutching at straws.
I’ll reserve my judgment on Burns when he’s given a good go in the back row.

We just had our arses handed to us by the Storm minus their 4 best players. It rips me apart whenever we lose to them and what makes it hurt even more is the fact that we tried so hard and couldn't compete after the Dufty injury.

When is someone going to tell norman to shove his short drop kicks where the sun don't shine he's lost us two games from that ploy now.

Was not intentional arm is out to hit the ball (maybe) not a vicious swinging arm then as Pap passes the ball bends his knees to prepare ft the collision hence Fui strikes high. Maybe a sin bin at most but no they totally stuff the game for us. Found to be difficult to defend if you can't use your arms they get you for a shoulder charge.

It was careless by Fui for sure but definitely not reckless or with intent to harm he just wanted to put a big hit on it's a contact sport things go wrong.

My take after Yesterdays game except the obvious discipline issues.
Poasa was good added speed and punch hitting the ball up... bit of a passing game in him too
Sims had a lot of touches but seems to be missing something ATM in attack
Hunt and Dufty the best backs
Cody not back to full fitness and speed yet
Max Feagai appears to be a bit slow and not ready or lazy which mirrored his preseason
His brother impressed me more snd deserves a shot in front of him when recovered

And whoever watched Channel 9
that stupid commentator couldn’t understand and shocked how Melbourne piled on the points in the second half
I quietly reminded him from the lounge room that they were playing against 12

I can see Hook making a fair few changes during origin Which will be a timely time to give more game time to people like Sullivan Amone and others when or if fully fit

McGuire's tackle was similar to the one that saw Dufty leave the field. And Kaufusi did a high shot on one of our players but somehow managed to avoid the sin bin.

It is what it is, but just saying Melbourne weren't the well disciplined side that some commentators would have us believe.

not sure why so much hate on Maguire, he played much like de Belin did, run to the line and pass out the back to halves which allowed us to spread to bird. Yes he made one high tackle which wasn't even that high. I personally thought he was one of the MOTM, especially filling in at Dummy half. Id love to hear reasons why he was as bad as people say he was besides the 10 in the bin

Saints played as well as they can under the circumstances. Their first half was amazing. I cannot understand how Fui and Maguire get pulled up by VR and Kafusi nothing? 1 quick replay which clearly shows he hit Norman in face across the nose and nothing? Did you notice how quick they showed it. Blink and you missed. Wow, again how obvious is that. It would have been nice to see Saints play the storm 12 on 12 as it should have been.

All bad calls were not ref, it was bunker. I thought the bunker was there to support the ref not officiate as that is what they do. Not only override what the ref sees but are selective which is why they run the game and can manipulate to get the result they want which is obvious with the Kafusi case.

As for Melb, the Addo-Carr incident was an attempt to get Maguire sent off or binned. They were playing against 12 yet wanted 11. As soon as nothing happened Addo-Carr was straight on. Funny how commentator on the field said he was not coming on, yet a second later he was playing his spot. What a quick recovery. Dufty was definitely targeted and that injury could have been avoided if the players did not throw him to the ground the way they did.

I think Hook killed the game by putting Bird at F/B. He was killing it. Burns goes there and it is a disaster. Feagai was on the bench and should have gone to the wing and Ramsey at F/B. Terrible call as he had a back on the bench. Williame is back next week so it will be Brid and Williame in the Centres. I have a feeling it will be Norman at F/B and Amone or Sullivan at 5/8.

How good was Ben Hunt? Our shining light yesterday. Getting back to his best. Rava was great to but being put on report AGAIN will change his style of defence if charged and misses more weeks which is sad as what he does seems to be ok for other sides but not him as I see those type of hits every game that get applauded. He will need to change his style big time. His timing is right it is how he will make the contact.

What can I say, we unfortunately follow the dirtiest side in the NRL and a club that support criminals so we are led to believe.

Rather have him than Ford or Ellis who offer nothing.

I'm not feeling negative after that game. Hook and the boys looked like they had a game strategy, when was the last time you could say that about a Dragons side? Boys put in the effort. Thought Fuimaono was unlucky, Papenhuysen fell into that tackle. McGuire is a liability.

I would like a careful look at the Fui tackle by the match reviewers.
Don't think there was that much contact with the head until Paps hit the ground.
