We probably only need to win 2 more games to make the finals.

I was being facetious.

Simply making the point I come on here post game and read so much negative stuff, mostly around Burton again.

I have made my position clear Burton will overtake Laui in the long term sad as that is for Jerome.

In the short term given where we stand I don’t understand the talk around Matt Burton and how he won’t resign because he is not being give game time.

Head coach Ivan Cleary got it right again today, we got the two points, whether we like his selections or not he got the job done and that is to his credit.

Yep. All it will take is a medium term injury to Luai or a huge form slump by the side and then Burton is in but while we keep winning no reason to change

what’s bull shit about it?

Are you saying that Burton is the same sort of player as Critter?

are you saying that Burton isn’t a strong steady player like Cleary?

what’s bullshit?
The first one. My point is that Burton has not been given a fair chance.

All but 4 GFs have featured Storm or Roosters in the NRL era. We haven't won in nearly 20 years and have been a mid table team for 6 years. Some people want more.

Today wasn’t a Storm or Roosters performance. They at there best would have put the Titans away and not given them a sniff. This afternoon wasn’t vintage, wasn’t GF stuff but it was another win given we needed to win and will get stronger when we get players back.

Every player is coming to work every day and the coach is watching, and we on this forum are not. Being a first grade head coach with great experience, and with plenty of knowledgeable assistants, the coach is able to get a picture of what each player in the squad can and cannot do, and what the team needs. Nine wins and a draw from 11 games, the best in this club's 54 year history, says he knows what he is doing. The situation will have been discussed with all the players, especially those outside the regular 17, with the result that three players who haven't taken the field in quite some time, all performed well when called upon. Burton is no different to anyone else. He can show his worth every day at training. He has to be patient and the rewards will come his way. One day maybe he'll look back on this year as character building.
Really? I am fully aware of that fact.

We have won 6 in a row. Top of the ladder. The last 2 performances have been scrappy but we are still grinding out a wins.
We will need to lift next week but if the effort is there we stand a chance.
I really hope this side is full strength come end of the year. We have put ourselves in a strong position to do something big end of the year.

Closing comment. Yeo rocks Fish is a beast and Naden's flick passes are getting better.

Burton will resign and the merry go round will go around next season as to whether we resign Jerome.

Cleary mentioned that this year the kid is still growing.

I know more than a little bit about child / teenager development. Young people can continue to grow up until 22 or 23.

Cleary might have been talking about the muscle mass he was adding, it’s very unlikely he’s still growing. Most males stop growing from age 18-20.

Both those sides have had grinding wins like that through the season. Given the circumstances all that matters is the 2 points

For who? It is alright to come on here behind a keyboard and say it but it was pouring down with rain. We were up by 2 with 20 mins left. Stopping tries was important as keeping them. As was not blowing an interchange incase Mansour went off
Mansour let a try in. He is a liability.

Burton will resign and the merry go round will go around next season as to whether we resign Jerome.
I doubt he will.

What do you think he gets at every training session? Or isn’t he allowed to train with the team either?
Obviously yes. The training paddock is completely different though.

Within 6 weeks everyone is due back

I’m going to be petty here, but this is a pet peeve of mine.

Resign = to quit

Re-sign = to stay

Also it makes no sense we’d re-sign Burton before Luai, they’re both off contract at the same time and Luai is the current starter.
