Oh OK.

It's fun all this speculation isn't it ?

The photo of Staines in the paper. He looked ok with the jaw. Assuming he is he will be FB until Edwards comes back.

So I see Crichton being FB. May at centre with Burton the bench covering hooker/centre/FB depending who relives Kenny

It is the safest option and allows a look at Burton in several positions

That is the best part about teams being named before some teams even train

Burton should play centre or fullback Naden on the wing and mwz no where the first grade side.

Starting your sets is a big part of defence MWZ is good with positioning etc. just slow. Also if Naden is being groomed as Whare's replacement then he needs gametime at centre.

Naden slots in and out of centre and wing with no trouble, left or right he does fine. Naden and Mansour as wingers start our sets off fine.

Burton was our motm in his last start, he’s been given 12 minutes off the bench since, it’s pretty ridiculous.

Everyone seems to have a different viewpoint on how the team will roll out.
My feeling is Burton will come in for Burns, become the utility and could get a run at fullback similar to the way chrichton was used at the start of the season.
If we are cruising he will get more minutes, if not, less.
Keeping Naden and Crichton in the centres is really important for the team, they both have fed tries to their wingers this year and luai in particular is forming a great combo with Stephen.
The attack will have to come from them so it will be interesting to see if they can step up.

How does it fix Naden's centre issues playing him on the wing though? Especially if you are putting Burton that is untried at centre next too him?

That is how I see it too. Especially with Staines and possibly Edwards back next game try and get the side as stable as can be for when those guys do return

Naden played wing last game, he wouldn’t be staying in the centres. He’d be moving to them.

Burton won’t get much time if he’s on the bench with May.

That’s true, but he was centre the game before that and would have to be at high odds to be the person taking Whares spot.
He deserves his chance at a permanent position in the centres, shifting him back and forth isn’t going to help his defence.

I don’t buy the set starts at all. Staines showed pace on the wings is more important.

It is it all. Being in position to take the ball on the full. Not dropping it either making the catch or when you run into a line of several players..

We saw early last year how that stuff puts you on the back foot. I doubt we play a winger and a fullback out of position. So I prefer the plodders on the wing then Aekins play

What are Nadens issues at centre? Scoring to often? Lol he is fine at centre he doesn’t need to be picked there so he can work on his issues.

With Api and Dylan out we are going to be lacking a bit in attack. Another ball player in the side is a huge plus even if it’s at centre, Naden outside Burton looks a lot better offensively than Naden/Mwz.

I agree, but unfortunately it seems Ivan has a hard on for Whare. So if the plan if Whare comes back into the centres, it’s arguable you just keep Naden on the wing.
