I'm sure the players will want to win this one. The Titans beat us last year and it may have cost a playoff spot. I like most don't think that the team selected will take the field. Kenny is no Api but a real goer. I don't think MWZ will start. Put Naden on the wing and May at Centre with Burton on the bench.
That would necessitate a reshuffle when Kenny is rested, with May going to dummy half.

Either MWZ or Aekins will play. I'd rather have a plodder on the wing than at FB

Despite the losses we should easily win this game.
Our defensive attitude is what we have been built on this year and I think Ivan’s selection are a reflection that he is focused on that.

I still hope to see Burton in the squad and playing a bit of fullback, mainly because I am concerned about Edwards injuries and Aekins isn’t good enough for finals footy if needed.
Hamstrings injuries seem to be very hard to deal with.

Staines may get a shot at fb next week but I think it’s important to figure out who should be next in line if injuries hit.
Kenny is our next in line hooker and needs some time on field, hopefully Barrett’s super attack coaching is a real thing and Kenny has added to his game.

Staines was playing on the wing behind Laurie in NSW cup earlier in the year, if he's third choice NSW cup fullback, it's hard to see him in the NRL fullback spot, especially when Laurie is fit.

Why wouldn’t Laurie play on the wing in the Cronulla game then? They’re both quick, same size, similar height. I’d assume you’d debut the next in line for fullback first.

Staines didn't play in the trials due to his jaw and Laurie is either a FB or 5/8th. So that is why

That sounds more like madness to the method to me. I’ve never heard of keeping a player in cotton wool just in case he gets injured, remember he’d be playing reserve grade for sure if it was an option. There’s no equivalent to that in the NFL.
Well regardless, they've put him on ice for a while. Either he is injured, or they think right now isn't the time for a return. There are better people than us who are steering the Panther ship ATM, so I'm inclined to trust their judgement.

Laurie is more if fullback/five eight than outside back, he is a very good ball player. I’d like to him at fullback this week tbh I think the way we are playing atm he’d do well. If he gets a bit of ball in the good attacking positions Dylan has been getting it he will find the right pass more often than not, and he’s got footwork and speed if he runs.

But why is May a safer bet at centre than Burton?

Staines is back next week. He solves the fullback issue so it is just a stop gap

So why not run out how we finished the game? Well as close as possible. I doubt we get an exemption for Smith with Burns in the squad.

That is usually how coaches play it when short term injuries hit. That is still better then Aekins and MWZ being in the squad

If I was picking the team he would be. I think Ivan plays it safe
