On Nighty to bench, I am just happy that a change has been made to get Mann a starting spot and I think wing is his best position.

I love Nighty and have defended him all season until Cotric pushed him off for a try in the opening minutes. I then thought what is the good of experience if you can't stop an opponent on your goal line one on one? I think this is an overdue change. Good pace and evasion from Kurt and good, strong defence. And I am sure Jason will give good value whatever minutes he gets and whatever role he is given.

Pleased to see Jacob Host in the 17. Have not understood why he has played so few minutes in the NRL over the past 2 seasons. But you have got to wonder about Mary's treatment of the young stars. Blake Laurie sits on the bench for 80 mins then performs creditably vs the Panthers, then picked at 17 for this game and then instead plays ISP yesterday. It would be a great surprise if we don't lose some good young players as a result of how Mary has stuffed them around.

Mixed feelings about this. I'm happy because it was absolutely time for this to happen. But i'm frustrated because I wish it was Lomax running out there and Mann kept his bench spot.

IMO Mann is more suited to centre but it’s a start.
Glad Host is named, whether he gets minutes or not remains to be seen, and moreso if he gets minutes in his proper position.

I expect to see Host get a fair few minutes in this game. His selection is IMO a back-up for Friz who was kneed in the sternum in SOO, otherwise Lawrie would have been in the 17.

No reason that they can't sub JDB for nighty and move Mann into the middle while he's off. Mann is more than fit enough to move to the middle after 40 on the wing.
