Yeah I reckon he's in our best five backs. Taka is sixth, his defence is atrocious. So Hoff to centre for mine.
Agreed, Hoff played in the centres for the Titans and did well. And his defence couldn't be as bad as Taka's which is just dreadful these days.

Ennis and Anasta both said pre game how poor his defence is and what a massive target him and Moses and French would be.

BA pulled a swifty and it worked well.

Anyone else think Taka would be better suited off the bench?

He would, but who does he push out? We need middle forward minutes from Alvaro/Vave/Scott, we really need a hooker and Kenny isn't going anywhere so the bench is already overly full.

I don't mind Taka but he's just the weakest link at the moment for mine.

I think Alvaro suffers a bit from the fact that he has a baby face (a bit like the fat kid from Hey Dad or that toilet paper ad). No matter how well he plays, he'll never look like a hard arse. I dunno if he'll ever be more than a decent fringe front rower, but he has continued to improve since he hit first grade, and his effort can never be questioned.

Is he a fringe prop? He has been starting in a side that looks a good chance of making the finals !

He's a fringe prop in an average NRL pack. He's a starter for us, as we are below average in the front row. Not a knock on him (he has plenty of years in front of him). Which other packs do you think he'd be a starter for?

I'd say Brown,Mau and Kenny covered for the poor work of our props. Alvaro was solid again but Mannah.Matagi and Vave offered SFA today. Evans can't get here quick enough and fingers crossed he's not the only prop that BA signs for next year.

Edward made 61 metres and 38 tackles in 80 mins, Mannah made 89 m and 17 tackles in less then 40 mins along with a decent head knock. So not sure Edwards covered him.

Alvaro made 20 tackles and 107 m in less then 40 mins. Manu made an impressive 177 m and 38 tackles but was on for 80 mins.

So without getting the exact time played stats in appears Mannah / performed similar per min of game time along with Alvaro / manu.

So really no one covered anyone !!

I wouldn't be using our captain as the greatest of comparisons right now, his been a passenger tbh and it hurts us.

You honestly thought Mannah offered anything??? His first hit up off the kick off was ok but after that his hit ups offered absolutely nothing. He used to be great getting to his stomach and getting quick play the balls. Now he takes an hour to get to his feet when he is not going off for a HIA. He is busted and looks finished. The club should be looking to tapping him on the shoulder at the end of the season and we should be looking to chase another pig besides Evans. We can't continue to start with Mannah and Alvaro against the top sides.

So i was curious and went and had a look how many penalties the Dragons concede in games

average about 5 or 6
most 9 twice and 8 once
least (other than today) 3 once and 4 twice

Hope BA mentions how amazingly well disciplined the opposition were today

He certainly did. Also mentioned about Jennings being on the right side for his defence.

I think we play the dogs next... klemmer and graham will eat these guys and spit them out.

Thought Moses played good today. He's an awesome foil for Norman. Love how he runs the ball every now and then, he really creates havoc when he decides to take on the line. That kick for the french try was sublime. And his general kicking game was excellent along with Norman's kicking game. Best kicking display I've seen in ages from any team.

I don't think BA will elevate Smith into starting 9.

So will it be King or Robson who takes the role? Someone on FB also mentioned they spoke to IDG at the ground today and he said he was 2 weeks from returning (though I'm sure I read something similar a month ago)

Could be good timing if IDG can get back on the paddock.

I can't speak for just ACL, given I did a proper job and did MCL and meniscus as well, but I've certainly seen blokes screaming from popping the ACL. And I've seen blokes try and play on.

Seems to be one of those injuries that has a broad spectrum of pain levels. Could be a dislocated knee cap, but the point is it was a serious knee injury...

Thing that had me thinking it was a dislocation as opposed to an ACL was the look on Guth's face when he was in the vicinity, like he'd seen something stomach churning. You usually associate that with a dislocation, an ACL isn't a hideous thing to look at usually... In saying all of that, maybe hearing Kaysa screaming in agony is what made Guth have that look on his face....

Best kicking game from the Eels over 80min that I can remember. Just goes to show how important it is with all the comments about our lacklustre pack.

Our attack still has not clicked, but it was a much better defensive effort today. Very sad for Kaysa, looks to be a long term injury. I hope Beau isn't off for too long either.
