Round 15 vs Roosters

Just finished watching the game. Here are my thoughts (apologies if others have already said this):

1. Starting with a positive - Dean Whare was enormous in defence and looked threatening in attack. Our best IMO with Merrin also getting through extra work.
2. To the bad stuff. Cleary needed to take the line on A LOT more. We looked much less predictable when he did. Both Maloney and Cleary took ages to get into that game and offered very little.
3. Obviously, we got smashed up front but the Roosters' outside backs also got massive metres too. Roosters almost doubled us in running metres. Thank god that Kikau, Leota, Blake etc. will be back after the rep round.
4. 60 missed tackles... we really failed to shut down them down all game.
5. 69% completion rate - we really didn't get the fundamentals right.
6. We really needed that - got a whole week to learn from that because we did not look likely at all. Thank god we have Manly (not an easy game if we play like that) because we can't afford to have a form slump now.

60 missed tackles shows the attitude isn't there. The bye seems to have been a big negative.

Tell me more about JWH :D
Your entire team hammered us for 80 minutes.

Even Boyd Fraudner comfortably outplayed most of our team. From the moment Jimmy threw the intercept we were clawing at you just to stay in the game.

By far our worst performance of the year. Although most of our fans want to ignore how badly we played.

The true tragedy here is that Souths are now deserving of being premiership favorites.

Okay just read through and while it was a piss weak performance, I simply don't understand why everyone is giving up all of sudden... we might as well throw the past 14 rounds away then?

The Roosters have been smashed this year, most notably by the Warriors 30-6.
The Dragons were belted by us.
Melbourne were smashed by the Dragons and Manly.
Cronulla got smashed by Easts and the Dragons.
South Sydney are then only team that have not been belted.

It is unrealistic to think we would go through the season without one bad game. I think we needed that. Hopefully the players realise the need to not get ahead of themselves and take their good form for granted. They need to aim up and I am hoping we turn it around ASAP.

For me more the injuries mounting up and looks like we spent energy early on

RCG is realistically the only one out for an extended period. Griffin said CHN should be fine. In the game against Manly we should have Leota, Blake and Kikau all back. We are also back at Penrith, where we are yet to lose.

Who's giving up on the season? Judging a game doesnt mean people are writing off the season.

We played shit. People are saying that. Why does it have to ve something more than judging what has just occurred?

As i said. Bury your head in the sand.

We play like shit and no one wsnts to acknowledge it. Lets just blame the referees. We xan praise the team. But not call them out when they suck.

Yeap exactly everyone has been pumped this year. Everyone knows we played pretty poorly tonight but we don't all have go Mitchell Moses on everyone in the team for one shit game, there is still along way to go.

someone said "bring on 2019"
In context it looked like a joke.

One person jokingly states it and suddenly everyone calling out a bad performance is writing our season off?

f**k all you positive merkins. I'm still hopeful of a premiership no matter what you want to think of me. I don't think it's the most likely outcome. But it's certainly possible.

the same guy wrote again before that that our season was over and i was quickly flicking through the forums because i only just got home so just thought it was another person. sure i was over-exaggerating i admit that im just happy to hear that the vast majority are thinking clearly.

as for it being a joke - its the internet i use sarcasm all the time but i also know you can never tell if anyone is being sarcastic online so i have no clue whether it was legit or not.

i still reckon we can win the comp just need maloney and cleary to step in big games unlike tonight
