Which thread on this forum? Couldn't give a f**k about social media in general. Too many idiots.

I should've done some screenshots. How many people saying Naden is better after 3 or 4 games? People still saying Blake has butterfingers even though it was 1 bad year or saying he had 1 good year with us when he was good 2016 - 2018 etc.

I'm going to have to re-read. I haven't seen any obvious examples of people shitting on Waqa. Are you sure you're not just misinterpreting plaudits for Naden?

I like blake a lot but he wanted out and now Naden is playing as well as Blake ever has IMO that's not bagging him so just deal with it. How many times have you seen blake out jump someone and pluck a ball out of the air like that? A guy with his height and athletic ability? Naden has 2 of them in 4 or 5 games now, Blake was a below average catcher of kicks. Naden almost had a freakish hatrick yesterday, of course people are excited for him.

No because I quite like Naden. I hope we give him at least a one year deal.

This case is for one game but a few guys like Luai are playing out of position compared to where they played in juniors

Where did Luai play in juniors?

I like Naden. I don't think one bloke being awesome for us excludes another player also being good. I really hope we give Naden a contract for next year to prove himself long term. I also think if Naden is an indication of of current reserves we should promote a centre for the other side.

.

Fullback. Edwards was wing. May/Cleary halves.

Naden was fullback Roberts/Blake centre when he played NYC.

Cleary was 6 in Australian Schoolboys. Hooker in SG Ball.

Cam Smith and Cronk both were in other positions in lower grades. So it happens

Why are we not giving him ago at Fullback while Maloney is here!

Luai didn't look great at fullback last year. He played in the halves in the under 20s for 2 years. Maybe in HM he was a fullback, I think by SG ball he was in the halves.

That makes more sense now.

He looked lost yesterday but thats what you get barely playing

Yeah his development this year is learning how to keep the bench warm. Would benefit from a game here and there playing 80 mins in halves back in reserves.

I thought Luai was decent yesterday. Got the ball out wide early, looked dangerous not knowing what the f**k he was doing next, cos then the opposition didn’t know what the f**k he was doing next either. That’s how he plays. Just needs to straighten a little.

I think he & Cleary will be a good halves combo, especially if Edwards keeps progressing at fullback.

Good player just needs some game time to perfect himself.

Agree completely with this.

Luai had some nice touches and a few nice kicks. He just plays whats in front of him. What you need to complement a more structured half back like Maloney.

Cleary needs to play more dominant. Needs to be more like Maloney before we lose Maloney.

Side issue - How the fk did we win that game yesterday with those refereeing decisions. Shows how far mentally we have come this season (maybe put that one down to good coaching??).

It was Luai who got the early ball out to Naden for his big break.

Naden really should’ve run the ball around under the posts on that bomb, Sharks have scored more tries and still lost a couple times this year. Anyway just a bit of inexperience.

I just don't get why they have him on the bench so much. It's clear he he skills he'd surely benefit with game time. Do they just want him with the first grade team permanently for reasons I can't imagine?

If Maloney stays next year, Luai should spend the summer training at centre. He’s too good to spend another year in reserves.

He could be a decent holdover option until Chricton or Mcgrady are ready.

I know he’s different sort of player with his style but I think he could benefit from a few games down in cup focusing on playing a bit more direct. I like feeding kikau and Naden early ball but sometimes we could benefit if really dug into the line before passing, mix it up.

That’s good this year, but not another year in 2020.

I’d definitely have him in reserves over the bench this year. Bring Jed Cartwright on to the bench.
