Round 17 Dragons v Titans

He got some pretty lousy ball from another highly paid player.
Yes the Titans were right on top of Mary's brilliant game plan and obviously were very happy when nothing was changed during the entire game. Widdop was heavily marked and so McInnes should have been advised to mix up his service between Widdop and Mann.

I said earlier in the week , too much pressure on widdops attack ..
Mann is not a half.
Put him a fb or centre
We wont miss dugan he is always injured ,now the sharks can deal with him.
A shit game and a shit result

Crush, even though we have been on opposite sides of an issue many times, I really feel you pain and can only say 'don't give up'. A lot of mistakes have been made which are way out of our control and much of the management issues are all kept secret.

Chin up and get ready for our next banter on some silly issue.

I felt it was the plan to direct all the traffic through Widdop. Problem is that McInnes followed instructions perfectly. Mann and Aitken were starved of the ball all game and the Titans just had to mark up heavily on Widdop - bobs your unkle.

Flat out reluctance to give Aitken any ball. He is 50/50 of scoring close to the line if you give him early pill.

Oh, and Mann isn't a half. Surprisingly, ol' Gypsy was right.

Thanks Possm, appreciate it but I am just devestated after tonight. Titans were not even that good, we were just terrible. I cannot see us climbing out of this one. Widdop is out of form. Our backs are all struggling. Dugan gets injured every 3 weeks. Vaughan is injured, Frizzell is injured, Packer looks soft all of a sudden. We don't have a halfback. And the players are smiling and laughing after the game! FFS!

He can't use his old "they scored a # tries from kicks" line. That was last years excuse. What a conundrum for him.

Be sure you will hear the following:

1. We lost Friz and Duges
2. They executed better
3. It's not good enough

Then he will go collect his pay.

Just listened to the presser

1. We lost Friz and Duges - check, and then some
2. They executed better - check
3. It's not good enough - check

According to Mary, all teams go through this and we are in a good position for the finals.

Yes according to McIdiot we are still in the finals, that logic, we will be first team out, if we even make the eight

And the Captains' input at the presser..

"We're just not executing... we just need to keep practicing .. and we will get it right eventually."- GW

'Get it right eventually' ... I really cannot believe this promotion of mediocrity .. where is the urgency to get it right NOW.

Surely Round 17 and in a top 8 death spiral .. the urgency should have sunk in already... the writing was on the wall in Round 13 but the brains trust just couldn't read it.

Hi All fellow dragons tragic,

I feel the pain also. However I wasn't expecting us to win tonight. Titans had a strong line up tonite and will win plenty more if injury free. 20 to 10 up on the coast not a dreadful result.
Kurt Mann is an ok player. Reasonable speed with a nice jinking step and trustworthy defender. He is not a halfback. Josh MCC is not as bad as made out by many here. His downfall is his kicking game, otherwise solid.
Euan Aiken is plagued by hamstring problems and at a young age. I didn't see much tonite nor ever save the odd game.He doesn't normally trouble the defence. Sorry but never been that wrapped in him. Tim Lafai is now heavily marked up. He can create space and run a good line but is now 1st dragons player pin pointed on the opposition defence sheet.
Russell Packer has never outstanding but I didn't want o rain on the early season parade. Vaughan and Leeson have always been mainstays this year.
Thomo, Jack, going well.

All not lost for the 8. Keep chins up guys the players do care.

Not going to cop this Mann is not a halfback just yet. I still await a game when he actually does play halfback. Tonight's game plan was poor with Mann treated as a passenger for the first half with all the traffic directed at Widdop. In the 2nd half he's back on the wing due to Dugans injury. If they select him as a half back then please play him as a half back, his kick for a restart was our best kick for weeks but he never got a chance to setup his outside players as all the ball went through a struggling Widdop.

Driving to the game without getting to carried away I thought just maybe after our comeback against The Knights the boys would show some ticker and give it to the Titans tonight....buoyed with those thoughts sitting in the stands alongside a large contingent of Dragon supporters I couldn't wait for the game to start....it didn't take me to long into the game to realise this is now shades of 2015 all over again.....the drive home was vastly different to the one going as I realized nothings changed much over the last 7 years and only a minor miracle would make things turn around....then after getting home I turned on the TV to see the highlights of The Storm game and knew then that now I was watching professional dedicated men whereas a few hours previous I had been watching dare I say it schoolboys....I don't know where its all unraveled of late but one things for certain we are only a shadow of the team we were a few months ago...disappointing to say the least

Trickles are faster, I reckon more like unicycles. Mc'Donald looks like he has had 1 too many Big Macs and needs to be dropped asap and bring dufty in.
One thing that was touched on by one of the posters today should be considered.
Nightingale is a specialist right winger.
In that position, he won a premiership in 2010.
Why to we persevere with him on the left wing??
It's a sad state of affairs when our utility looks our most potent winger as a fill in.
