Long term we're still not going to go anywhere when all we have in the middle is Brown, Brown, Brown, Brown, Brown and Brown

People are carrying on about our middle being "smashed", but four middle forwards made over 100m tonight. Brown was head and shoulders above the rest, then Tolman, Klemmer, and Matagi also made over 100m. Two each.

Hardly paints the picture of a middle that got belted. More like paints a picture of a game of two halves. Dogs defended more than they had the footy in the first half, and we defended more than we had the footy in the second. And we actually ended the game with a possession deficit and still won.

Some of the refereeing we are getting on the wrong side of is a f**king joke, anyways I nearly fell over when we got that penalty in extra time but i'll take it.

Our defence was much better tonight so proud of the boys efforts that was immense in the second half, nothing went our way but we still kept it competitive.

Brown was awesome again what a bloody player! 2 carries a set and with so much gusto what a motor. We don't have Moses we probably don't win that. His kicking game was awesome as usual, and his defence was great he is gonna be very good for us and he already is, his been brilliant and just looks so dangerous when he runs.

King was actually very good on debut I was pretty impressed.

When do we ever win close games like that? Never it's a joy to watch us slowly become a gritty and steely team and win those.

Tbh I think our middle did a good job.

Problem was they were absolutely rooted from all that tackling, and were less effective in attack.

Firstly, the Dogs are WOEFUL and most other teams would've beaten us easily in that second half.

I just think our middle isnt good enough to get us out of trouble. That seven tackle set at the end of the game is a case in point.

Our ability to kick long and find some grass most of the time kept us in the game

People are slating us for our second half performance, but you can only do what the game allows. We were camped in our own 20 the whole half bar one set and didn't get one penalty? Like you said they were absolutely rooted from all that defending. We were up against it for long periods there but we still stuck strong.

But if we had one more Brown or someone like a Frizzell or Jackson we would be a very very good footballing team.

Let's not forget we played one hour without our best edge forward...

This also exposes just how poor our middle players really are though, except for Brown.

In fairness we defended pretty well for moat of the match, but I'm glad we were playing the Dogs and not someone else.

Look, Mannah is becoming a worry. I love the bloke, but whether it's injury or he's just one of those guys that drop off a cliff as footy players, he's been poor.

But otherwise, Alvaro made 41 tackles, Brown 43, Moeroa 41/Gower 23 (both spent time in the middle and on the edge), King 27, Smith 24, Mannah 26 and Matagi 16. Edwards also made 42 and definitely a chunk of those were in field from the back row position.

Our middle did a f**k ton of work defensively....it's no wonder they were cooked in that second half. The Dogs sent a hell of a lot of traffic up the middle and honestly we did well to keep Kasiano under 100m and to keep noted metre eaters like Klemmer and Tolman to low 100s.

I thought Matagi had a great game personally. 100m off the bench in a game like that is excellent
