We arent resting Jimmy. Not this week atleast.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...e/news-story/939e92832c280ff62dd7688ada9c2807

“It’s probably more around training with Jimmy, a guy his age. He got a week off suspension a few weeks back, so at least he’s had one game off,” Ivan said.

“But we’ll definitely manage the next few weeks for him and just see how he goes.

“He’s also on a bit of a roll too and we can’t really afford to be (resting).”

Personally I dont think we can afford to not rest him. Hopefully Ivan changes his mind.

Looks like Maloney will play on.

And Cleary totally offers this team something. I'd have him in the 17 with Luai too. Odd one out is Kenny for me, has been doing well but Egan needs to start again.

So we put in an ugly scrappy win against a terrible team (running last now) and we now have guys convinced we are better off without our State of Origin halfback?

We scored 4 tries against the team in last place who are on the verge of sacking their coach. We showed some good signs. But we have to be realistic about the opposition we were playing.

We scored 3 tries each against Roosters and Souths in tough wins... both top 4 sides. We score 1 more try against the team running last and somehow that's a sign our attack is better?

We should have had many more tries last night. Titans effort went along way to allowing everyone to look better than they would have against a good side. I was more proud of our defence than attack. Even in the dying minutes the effort was there to keep Titans tryless. As ugly as we played at times. We put in effort for 80 minutes. Even against a shit team once the game was well and truly won.

If you mean me I don’t think we’re better off without Nathan, I think he should be moved to 9 with Maloney/Luai as our halves. I know it’s not happening in a million years but I still see that as a better halves combo. Especially for attack, which is our problem.

It’s weird people mention the fact that he’s the state of origin half when he hasn’t done anything in attack in his 5 games of origin.

Reality is the Cleary/Maloney halves combo has us in 15th for attack, reasonable to suggest that they haven’t been doing their job in that area. Especially Cleary

Also here’s some of the players we didn’t come up against in the Roosters/Bunnies games.

Top four on the ladder, but not in those teams. Bunnies have lost four in a row, including games to the Eels & Tigers. Roosters lost four from five in their injury depleted period.

What’s been great about the last 6 weeks is the commitment, the team whilst still struggling in attack hasn’t given up. For the foreseeable future that’s how I see our wins coming, by grinding them out.

They also rested players who weren't injured. The coach planned it meticulously and either didn't respect the opposition or didn't think his side needed to win, having started so well or thought the team he sent was good enough. Obviously the second last round when we play them full strength will be a serious test, but fate has a habit of coming back to bite sides that count their chickens early. Even the side that played that game looked like they expected to win. The Roosters might come to wish they killed us off when they had the chance.

Hopefully it bites them.

I’m really looking forward to the next two weeks, much better tests for the team. I think we can win, but I also expect them to be grinding wins. Canberra game especially, they’re very good in defence.

Incredibly, we could be as high as 5th or 6th of we win the next two weeks. Even an outside chance of 4th.

You’re wrong. You spelt it wrong and you’re seeing it wrong because of a clear bias you can’t see past.

Jimmy makes a poor decision and shoots out and leaves a wide open hole and he doesn’t tackle anyone at all the ball does not go anywhere near where jimmys rushing and then Papali runs through the line right where jimmy should be, that’s a bad decision or bad read and one that he makes often, the experts in the commentary also saw it this way, the ones with no interest or bias in whether it’s jimmys or Cordners fault.

You were blaiming cordner and cook(anyone but Jimmy right?), it’s clear as day had Jimmy moved up together with Cordner instead of rushing in front of him Papali would not have scored, it’s basic stuff actually, every nrl defence style is dependent on working with the man inside you.

It’s got nothing to do with a Maloney bias, when I look at a defensive structure, I see it in simple numbers and positions.

You clearly don’t, do there isn’t much point continuing this discussion. What you are saying is fundamentally wrong but I can see you will continue to say it.

So how about we just move on.

Go the Panthers.

Love it when Lukey goes toe to toe with posters. He literally doesn't back down. And at the end he keeps it control by offering to move on from the scene. Impressive stuff.

Even depletedthose teams still have better coaches, better players and better defensive structures than the Titans do.

Souths still had Cook, Walker, Murray, Roberts, Gagai, Johnston etc.

Roosters still had Tedesco, Cronk, Manu, Tupou, Cordner, Radley etc.

Neither was at full strength. But both teams were still a hell of alot better on paper than the Titans and ofcourse had 2 of the best coaches in the competition.

Compared to the team running dead last, also missing thelikes of Ash Taylor, Michael Gordon, Tyone Peachey etc. Ofcourse we are going to put more points on that team.

Well I wasn’t judging a Maloney/Luai combo as being better based on just the Titans game, I’m basing it being better on the fact Luai has more of an attacking instinct and tests the defence in ways Cleary doesn’t.

Look at the style of attacking kicks last night, it wasn’t bomb after bomb, we actually put in variety to test them out. Again it’s style, not the results I’m looking at.

I still wouldn’t hang much on those Souths & Roosters games, collectively they’ve lost 8 from 9 games.

We haven't just bombed for a while even with Cleary.

Happy to get another win.
Edwards was great.
Egan is getting better each week. I notice a big difference in our performances when he comes on.
Well done to Maloney for backing up and saving Nathan from being rushed back.
